Am I the only one who noticed that @Werner didn't mention #Kubernetes or #Containers at all in his keynote? 🤔. The world is asynchronous. The world is event-driven. Event-driven is evolvable. Evolve or die 🤯

After nearly 25 years, I’m publishing the Distributed Computing Manifesto in its entirety, an internal document from the early days of Amazon that transformed the architecture of our e-commerce platform. https://t.co/IKR5su3i1M
I’m super disappointed to see leaders in this industry — who have made shit tons of money off the backs of developers — use the current economy as an opportunity to make public statements about how we don’t work hard enough, aren’t talented enough, and don’t deserve jobs.
This is BIG! You can now use a Lambda Extension to retrieve secrets from Secrets Manager and parameters from Parameter Store. This helps you save on cost and latency in retrieving secrets/params from your Lambda function!

@bob_the_mighty @goofballLogic the main idea behind that talk was to explore what's coming next after function as a service, and how we can keep bringing devs and ops closer and closer in terms of languages and tools, thinking in terms of systems rather than infra and app code
Software design tip (database design too):
Use case: a user has multiple pictures and one is a main/profile picture.
When designing the tables/models:
Don't:
user(id, name), picture(id, user_id, is_main, url)
Do:
user(id, name, main_picture_id), picture(id, user_id, url)
@mimmozzo's talk on Development productivity in a post serverless world yesterday was excellent!
He even braved live coding on stage

#DevOpsDays if you liked the ideas behind platform as code and infrastructure from code and want to dive deeper you can watch the full version of the talk here https://t.co/gYyNsOT426 with step to step guides and a better live coding:)
