@CL16_inside I see your point 🫠 We’re already far behind, and McLaren didn’t even show their true potential. Might as well take the penalty here and have the fresher PU for Sepang, where the long straights and heavy acceleration zones mean you can actually make better use of the extra power.

@marrlec Charles didn’t have a tow in the final sector, while Max clearly did and look where that put him. He jumped to P1 with a double slipstream. You can also see with Lewis how much the tow helped him close the gap.

Honestly, from what we’ve seen in FP3, I think we can fight for P3/P4, with P2 at best. Lewis couldn’t really close the gap to Max and George even with the slipstream. But then again, I completely forgot McLaren might be sandbagging for some reason🙃

@techndly and generate traction, the two issues could potentially be connected. Obviously, we’d need more telemetry to know if that’s actually what’s happening but it’s a really interesting theory🙂‍↕️

@techndly but was much closer in S3. If Ferrari has to manage where it deploys its limited electrical energy around the lap, that could explain why the deficit isn’t consistent across every sector. And if the stiffer platform is also making it harder for the rear tyres to absorb the load+

@OscChaOops Lando clearly backed out of a faster lap, so his final time doesn’t really show what that attempt would’ve been. That’s also why the Sector 3 time makes him look slower than he actually was🤷‍♂️
