@JMilesMiller@WrestleCourt Right?? I guess maybe to show the brutal nature of humans but still felt totally unnecessary and irrelevant right out of the gate.
@Evangelion217@TheCineprism Absolutely. Have you seen "Knowing" w Nicolas Cage? That one blew me away in theatres and acrually plaued with alot of interesting ideas!
@fandompulse They had 2.5 hours to explore a topic full of potential, but provided very little substance past what we could already gather from the trailers. We've known for years that the government is hiding data... there was nothing to tie it all together. Was underwhelming throughout.
@RonyVernet Woopty doo. It was a mediocre moment in an otherwise very underwhelming movie. And really, that whole scene barely gave us anything other than bad CGI and zero substance oitside of what we got from the trailers
@Shoshana51728 So disappointed. Being a huge Spielberg fan, it just felt underwhelming, disconnected, forced. There were one or two neat elements but they only subtly enhanced what we already gathered watching the trailers. Not much substance otherwise to a topic that has so much potential.
@Nerdom_news@Nerdrotics I really don't get the connection they tried to make with religion. The whole christianity theme just seemed unnecessary, and lacking substance to entertain possible dualities to religion and how that could relate to us humans. There was so much missed potential here.
@shmaals2 I felt so underwhelmed watching it. Like it was trying too hard without actually disclosing anything we don't already know or speculate. You really don't get alot of substance outside of what you gather initially from the trailers.
@DaysDemon33799@EndymionYT@TheCriticalDri2 Terrible movie. And that's exactly how ai felt!! Like he tjinks we're dumber than we are. I could have gotten on board even w aliens having a hand in engineering humans...therefore tech being our "gods"...but he didnt even come close to exploring anything, really.
@lukeNukemAI@mark_k It would have gone much further if they'd explored the theory that ETs could be our "gods" in that they are more advanced beings that could have had a hand in engineering us humans... hence religion would be obsolete. But this doesn't even come close to exploring any of that.
@mark_k I'm a huge Spielberg fan but left feeling completely underwhelmed. You'd never know this was his film, apart from the John Williams score playing throughout. Not much substance or answers past what you can make out from the trailers which was most disappointing.
