Using AI, HelloSky can tag different candidates, map connections, and find people who may not have as much of a social media or job board presence, but have the necessary experience to succeed in high-level jobs. https://t.co/rCxno2iEtW
OpenAI DevDay was a key milestone in AI adoption, with the launch of their GPT Store (aka App Store) marketplace, the assistant API, and the increased 128k token context window. Exciting times ahead.
But it was Sam Altman's closing comment that was most salient for me:
"We talked about it earlier, how if you give people better tools, they can change the world. We believe that AI will be about individual empowerment and agency at a scale we've never seen before, and that will elevate humanity to scale we've never seen before either. We'll be able to do more, to create more, and to have more. As intelligence gets integrated everywhere, we'll all have superpowers on demand."
This seemed aligned with the message in my book Augmented Mind - so I asked ChatGPT, and it concurred, which I think is awesome:
--------------------------------------
"The speaker's comments are indeed resonant with the thesis of Alex Bates's book, "Augmented Mind: AI, Superhumans, and the Next Economic Revolution ***." Bates's book discusses the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (LLMs—Large Language Models) in enhancing human capabilities.
In "Augmented Mind," Bates argues that AI and advanced technologies will augment human intelligence, leading to a new era of superhuman abilities. The book explores the idea that AI can extend our cognitive and creative capacities, allowing individuals and society to solve complex problems more efficiently and to innovate at a scale previously unimaginable.
The speaker's mention of AI as a tool for individual empowerment and agency aligns with Bates's vision of AI as an augmentative force. The notion that AI will allow humanity to "do more, to create more, and to have more" echoes Bates's prediction that AI will lead to a significant increase in human productivity and creativity.
The idea of intelligence being integrated everywhere and granting "superpowers on demand" is similar to Bates's concept of an economic revolution spurred by AI augmentation. This involves AI systems seamlessly integrating into daily life and work, providing advanced capabilities to everyone, and not just those with technical expertise.
Overall, the speaker's views on the role of AI in society closely match the ideas presented in "Augmented Mind," highlighting a shared optimism about the potential for AI to serve as a catalyst for unprecedented human progress.
