@TheArsenalTom@GhostxGamingz@richrssll@HLTCO Yes. They are playing in Europe for the first time in club history. They're placing a fuck off asking price because they'd rather have their best midfielder for that run and if he helps them to a trophy in the process they'd gladly loss temporary revenue to make history
@elemz__@pedroelchileno@Livelydynamic Not the same tier of talent but Nwaneri and Lewis Skelly both broke through because their ability demanded they have a place in the side even if it wasn’t in their primary position. Foden not nailing down 1 role is similar. He was so good he had to be played somewhere.
@elemz__@pedroelchileno@Livelydynamic this is a lot of chat for talent finds a way. Saka came in where there was no way into the team on the wings but his talent earned him a role & his performance got him the position he wanted. Same w/ England. He was taken to the euros in part bc he could play lb. But won the job
@shilltonkeynes@fc_mossman They’re not trying to inflate the market. The market is already inflated and they feel like it’s an injustice if they accept a low fee for their player. In a world where Strand Larsen is 50+ mill why would I sell you my young player who I think is/will be world class for 60?
Stop being shocked when you see u23 players from “selling” clubs quoted at exorbitant numbers.
First it was Diomande at 100m, then it was Mateus Fernandes and Alex Scott at 80m, then Elliot Anderson…
1. How stupid would these teams be to negotiate against themselves out in public… of course the fee that’s fed to journalists will be the highest fathomable starting point.
2. Be more Bayesian… if you keep thinking “wow that’s so high” I wonder how many more times it will take before you begin to accept the inflation within the market.
@elemz__@pedroelchileno@Livelydynamic That justifies him not playing as a teenager. But Foden got opportunities in that same team as a teen. And Palmer was 21 still feeding on scrap minutes
@cfcsavage9@pedroelchileno@mohbii Whose fault is it that Saka has led his team to a UcL final, semi, and quarterfinal while Palmer couldn’t? It’s not like Saka debuted first
Bill Simmons: In terms of teammates with consecutive numbers on their jerseys, where do we rank Wemby and Harper with the #1 and #2 jerseys? You have to put McHale and Bird at the top spot with #32 and #33 right?
Joe House: I can't do this anymore. There has to be more to life
> Elite private high school
> Out of the entire class, there was only one student who was accepted into an Ivy League school.
not so elite after all!
@_zz_kiss@gemma_ge81836@Ellis_@TJayyyy_1 All of those players were much younger and we’re taken at key stages in their development. None, bar Trossard are the player they were when they left Brighton.
