In 1970 the philosopher Hannah Arendt use the term "the rule of nobody" to describe the modern condition. We are living in a dictatorship of the bureaucracy where there is no-one to be held responsible or to address in case of grievances. Elections are absolutely useless since they just shuffle talking heads while the ruling apparatus is set up and runs automatically. The end result is that violence and destruction becomes the only way to address a system where no-one is in charge.
It doesn't matter what happens. You can not address the machine. No single politician or even Political party or institution is powerful enough to change anything. The only thing that remains is to deny the bureaucratic machine territory.
@LeisRealTalk My hunch is that the purpose of this new engagement with NK is to finally de-nuke that ticking time-bomb.
Just put NK under the Chinese umbrella and there’s no longer an excuse for them to have nukes.
Might take a couple years but it’s time.
@BoeingB52BUFF@ChuckDeVore Are these new new? Like another even better new? The efficiency increase is amazing. Pays for the engines over a number of years easily.
@BretWeinstein “Drivel”, sigh.
I’ll continue to think that, the longer this “pride month” continues, the more harm it will do.
And the backlash to this corporatization of the community needs to be led by the community itself. And I see backlash forming.
@CynicalPublius I think the engagement is key. It’s probably why forms of shunning involved, beyond the obvious ones.
That said it’ll really hope it’s a ‘phase’ we’re going through.
@hydmeister@davidsenra@pmarca Some truth there. It’s important though to document both success and failure. For us at the end of our careers these interviews are fascinating. For those in the fray, right now, it’s probably of little value.
