Do you know that the Polish Ministry of Science @MNiSW_GOV__PL plans to shoot down the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences because of the lack of subsidies for maintaining the primary tool of work, a research vessel?

How salt from the Caribbean affects our climate: Researchers from @marum_de, @AWI_Media, @DalhousieU and #GEOMAR explore the link between salinity, ocean currents and climate in a new study that has now been published in @ScienceAdvances. More info: https://t.co/bM5yJ1PGAC
We found that recent cold epochs like the Litttle Ice Age were characterized by high surface salinity in the Caribbean and weak circultion in the North Atlantic.
New model description paper: Simulating marine neodymium isotope distributions using Nd v1.0 coupled to the ocean component of the FAMOUS–MOSES1 climate model: sensitivities to reversible scavenging efficiency and benthic source distributions https://t.co/xCSnHHezuy
I can't believe it, but it seems my #MSCA project has been selected for funding! I will be working at @GEOMAR_en and @WHOI on ocean circulation and CO2 during my favourite time period, the last interglacial! Magic🥹
Congratulations to my wife @mis_5e who received the #MSCA postdoctoral fellowship today! What exciting news and hopefully many fruitful days in the new project for her and her supervisors @elenianagno, @shiness121 and Kassandra Costa! @GEOMAR_en@WHOI @MSCActions @HorizonEU
Collective failure of #ClimateChange negotiations over the last 30 years. 🤦♂️
Carbon dioxide levels still going up ⬆️ causing rising global temperatures 🌡
1.2°C and rising ➡️ 🌪💨⛈🌀🌊🔥🥵

Wow... From Nov 1st @nature is publishing reviewer reports and author responses for ALL research articles. Do you think it's a good step?

What a night in #halifax! #fiona gave us a scare with fierce winds, but I guess we got off easy compared to northern Nova Scotia. Still no power, but we have candles and #stormchips
