The millennials with actual stories to tell are to busy trying to pay rent and live.
Nothing should require an app. There should always be an alternative. You should always be able to leave your cell phone at home or not own one at all. This applies to everything but especially for something as basic as parking.

Nobody talks about how "parking" used to cost quarters. Now it's $8/hour, requires an app, won't take cash, and charges you a $2 "convenience fee" to pay digitally. You're paying a tech tax to leave your car in a painted rectangle. Public space has been monetized into oblivion.
