@MattBoxer94 Whitmer deff made a mistake not running, but if AES wins by double digits, I think she still would have had to fight for it. I mean if her strong endorsement didn’t seem to have a major effect, there’s an argument that the electorate is just too feral to be logical right now.

@bdquinn I think you're mostly right, but I also don't think AES can pivot to the kind of campaign that makes Trump the focus of the conversation. Not "a vote for me is a vote against Trump", but "a vote for me is a vote against Israel, ICE, etc. " That's a bigger ask for undecideds.

@agraybee I agree to some extent, but this whole situation reminds me of the Biden stuff. Polling showed others doing better so it was the most selfish thing in all of politics for him not to stand down ASAP. AES is not selfish for... reasons?

@NickyFrank30 Extra fun thing here is that Biden was polling like this before he dropped out and him staying in as long as he did was apparently the single most selfish thing a politician has ever done. How does that not apply to AES staying in when he’s obviously the weaker GE candidate?

@JonnyDMiles @Cincinnatus56 To add on to this, I know normies in Minnesota positively excited to vote for Flanagan who are over the moon they don’t have to vote for AES. Beyond his politics, they just think he’s an asshole. You can only ask so many people to hold their nose.

@DrewSav I don’t want to be all “kids are different now”, but I’ve been in several late screenings and had young teens yelling, screaming, and throwing popcorn. Then you ask them to be quiet and they get louder. I’m sure kids did this when I was a kid, but I never encountered it

@estherzelda0514 Based on data, it seems like AES has this, but even then there’s literally no upside for him and his supporters to act this way! He and his campaign has no impulse control and only do things that feel good in the moment. He’s just lucky that the electorate is equally insane rn.

@constans @NickyFrank30 It’s currently booked up through September (even with 2 and 6 AM screenings), supporting $100+ scalped tickets, and had people leave work to buy tickets in person when the entire app crashed because everyone has alerts set up when new tickets are released. @tomwatson I think a Fight Agency rule is all their candidates need a uniform: Momadani always wears a suit, Fetterman with the shorts and hoodies, Platner with AI's idea of what a Mainer wears, and AES has that stupid too small black tee. He probably think it makes him look like a fighter

What happens when the former Republican who only uses social media for recipes sees this dude acting like an asshole next to a dude that looks normal?
