The country is already paying the price of excessive privatization of critical infrastructure like ports and logistics. During every global crisis, supply chain disruptions and a stronger dollar drive up costs, and private operators pass much of the burden—through higher logistics and terminal handling charges—to ordinary citizens.

The same risk exists in banking. Privatizing profitable Public Sector Banks could reduce public accountability and leave critical financial services increasingly driven by commercial priorities rather than the public interest.

There is still time to act.
