My family and I had a great time watching my mom's performance assessment! It was like our own mini concert in the living room. 🎸 #letsteachadults@YEPeducation
#letsteachaults@YEPeducation My learner and I brainstormed a great performative assessment for the end of the term. With my approval, she will perform a song of her choice in front of some of our family members!
This week we practiced our 5 basic guitar chords: C, A, G, D, and E. Now that we have our basic tools we can play some simple songs for next week! My learner has been developing her guitar calluses too. She's becoming a stronger guitar player 💪
#letsteachadults@YEPeducation this week my learner wanted to go back to the Filipino folk song "Bahay Kubo." There were some chords there that we haven't learned yet but she had fun with the challenge!
This week we practiced the 4 chords we have went over so far. We also took a look at some simple songs to give my learner some practice before our Final "Exam" still a work in progress! #letsteachadults@YEPeducation
This week my learner and learned the G and E chord! I'm noticing that my learner is able to pick up patterns in the way that the chords are arranged in my sample songs. Could my learner have strong logical-math intelligence?🤔 #letsteachadults@YEPeducation

After practicing our chords we watched a few guitar covers for inspiration! Here is one of a popular Filipino folksong, Bahay Kubo (house made of palm leaves) #letsteachadults@YEPeducation
This week we added a new chord to our list: the A chord! We also went through some finger stretches and gave time for my learner's fingers to heal! #letsteachadults@YEPeducation
This week my learner and I went over the parts of a guitar!
I used confirmatory paraphrasing to understand what she was feeling about starting guitar lessons. It’s a great way to keep the lessons student-centred. #letsteachadults@YEPeducation
For our first session I went over a basic outline of what I think we should cover for this term. After learning the piano I think my mom has gained some more musical confidence. Let’s see how things go! #letsteachadults@YEPeducation
@NonnoRusso @YEPeducation Things like this are definitely always a work in progress and it's great that your starting to sense more confidence and ownership!

#letsteachadults@YEPeducation on the last day of school we used to watch movies so for the last session this term my mom and I watched a Live performance of one of my favorite pianists, Yiruma. 🎧
@JRamire21579357@YEPeducation Great use of knowledge and connection to the content in the lessons. It really shows the value in these sessions. Keep up the great work!
