@gibigill I’ve followed your journey for the past couple of years. Your bravery has been inspirational and your smile infectious. I’m really sad to read this tweet, sending you all my love and admiration x 💙💚
@ChrisLee240@PolyglotElsa @WhistleblowingT He was really lucky then - I guess he may have more non teaching time in his week for marking/prepping. I’ve only been teaching four years. I think it’s a different job now, but I wasn’t teaching a long time ago, so only hear the ‘stories of yesteryear 😂).
@ChrisLee240@PolyglotElsa @WhistleblowingT stay in school until 5, intervention, clubs, calling parents, responding to emails and prepping, On average I do about 2 hours work in the evening at home. I’m not unusual, and not complaining, I love my job, but this is the reality of my day. 2/2
@ChrisLee240@PolyglotElsa @WhistleblowingT I’m assuming you haven’t worked in a school? My day at school starts at 7:30, I tend to mark in the mornings. Break time, clearing up from one lesson and getting ready for the next, wee if I’m lucky. I’ll stop for about 10mins at lunch, 1/2
@leewhowrites I have a slow puncture on one of my front tyres. It costs me 50p every 10 days to add air to it. I’m currently assessing whether this is a financial error and I should just replace the tyre. Views welcome.
@tillyti09882358@BadSchoolparent@ScottPughsley I think the original tweet is more people perceive teaching as fam friendly, when the reality is, it isn’t always. There are many other non fam friendly jobs, but they don’t have the same external perception. Not to do with pay. I’ve worked for same pay, long hours & 26 days A/L
