25 consecutive years—and still #1! The MSU College of Education is the nation's leader in elementary and secondary education, according to @usnews: https://t.co/DyXYCBkHfu
@reichel_jordan @tyLanasaurusrex @MrLostetter Hi Jordan! This is a great mindset to have when looking at job offers. It’s all about the students and that means teachers have to feel comfortable doing what they think is best in the environment that they are in. Our community needs to help us do so. #pstpln#CEP416
@SPrzybylo @tyLanasaurusrex Hey Sarah! I love this response!! I think it’s so important for teachers to continue learning throughout their career! We are never gonna get better for our students if we end our education once we graduate. #PSTPLN#cep416
A5: I have thought about this question a lot, and I think the most important thing when looking at a school district is what supports you will receive once there. Teaching is hard, and you need a school that will supply you with help, not make your life harder. #PSTPLN#CEP416
If your relationship with your scholars is solely as their teacher, it will most likely be shallow. But, if it’s as a loving & consistent individual who happens to teach, there will be always be depth! #RelationshipsMatter#KidsDeserveIt
@BlackieKarissa@tyLanasaurusrex Hi Karissa! I’ve never heard of this website before but I would love to check it out. I think it’s important for students to have physical activity in the classroom, and I’m sure that students love this website, as well. They can get a well-deserved break from it! #PSTPLN#cep416
@heathermcardle5@tyLanasaurusrex Hey Heather! I definitely agree with this, this year is the first year I’ve had to use Google classroom and, at first, it was so confusing to me. After I got comfortable with it though, it made my organization skills for the class much easier. #PSTPLN#cep416
A4: I love following the page WeAreTeachers on Facebook! There are so many different articles and posts from real teachers that are so inspiring and they have given me so many ideas for my future classroom! It’s a great resource for preservice teachers like us! #PSTPLN#cep416
@MercedesFinstu1@tyLanasaurusrex Hi Mercedes! I didn’t even think of how developing problem solving skills can help kids in other aspects of their lives as well! That’s a really good point! I’ve never used toontastic, so I would be really interested in seeing how that works. #PSTPLN#cep416
@nataliemeyerr@tyLanasaurusrex Hey Natalie!! I agree that problem solving doesn’t come naturally and it can be kind of hard to learn! I think that technology has really advanced the abilities of students to be able to take a problem and find a better way for them to understand it #PSTPLN#cep416
A3: Problem solving is very relevant in teaching. If something isn’t working for students, you have to think of a solution. Technology is a great way to do so. Students that may not understand firsthand, may use technology as an alternative way to learn materials. #PSTPLN#CEP416
@BlackieKarissa Hey Karissa! I really like this idea too! I feel like there are so many different things to discover on each different platform. Everyone uses them for something different so it’s important to diversify your range! #PSTPLN#CEP416
@laura_egger Hey Laura!! I completely agree with this! I have started looking through the following list of those that I follow, to see who has similar interests as me. It’s helped a lot and opened up a lot of new ideas for me as well! #PSTPLN#CEP416
Happy Tuesday! A2: I think the best way to grow your blended PLN is to interact! The best way to get to know others is to put yourself out there, especially in the teaching community. Whether it be online or in person, making connections is key. #PSTPLN#CEP416
@mrchrisham@tyLanasaurusrex Hi Chris! I really like this thought, too. I think too many people think about assessments but don’t really know where to go after them, or at least don’t think about it prior to giving assessments. The intervention and enrichment is important! #PSTPLN#cep416
@OmillianL Hey Alyse! I really like how you want to focus on using a student centered mindset. I feel like too many teachers forget about the entire reason we do what we do - our students! Collaborating with colleagues can make doing so easier too. #PSTPLN#cep416
Hi everyone! I’m Marisa Tringali and I am a junior at MSU! For A1: I would focus on the needs of all of my students and find the best ways that each of them can learn, while using all my resources (including other teachers and students!) #PSTPLN#cep416
Some classrooms have charts displayed to identify the status of kids’ behaviors, choices, and/or mistakes.
What if...
The school’s office, lounge, or workroom had charts displaying the behaviors, choices, mistakes of staff?
Would that add value to the culture?
