Thoughts on Twitter, Musk, and the destruction of the virtual public square.
The end may be near. No amount of snark or schadenfreude will change the fact that this situation is a disaster. Twitter has always been a mess – but also a crucial instrument to democratize America.
@naval@BrianRoemmele I'm pretty sure you've probably lost through this mess and I'm sincerely sorry. But still speaking like you are prophets on a currently failed concept is a transparent and utterly immoral void to enter. Leave people alone. Be quiet.
FTX was not run in a negligent manner, it was run like just about every criminal operation.
Burner records of cash transactions and no “official” meetings.
Been in the banking and credit card industry for over 3 decades not sure what this new threshold is for arrest.

Okay so I see people thinking Twitter will go down as it loses engineers, fail whale everywhere. But that's not how it happens. That's the worst case as things go catastrophically wrong.
What actually happens is small fires, no longer addressed, burn into wildfires users see.
@AtticusGF People will hate on machines, but that's what you asked about and they can be easier to get into. This is a simple way to establish a solid gym routine and it builds in progression for both weights and cardio.
@AtticusGF Once you get through the machines try to complete 5k on the treadmill as quickly as you can. Slow down to a walk if you have to, but ideally set a jogging pace that you can maintain the whole time, even if it's slow.
With the wave of generative AI coming up, I've been thinking about the "$1000 blockbuster movie"
Today millions of dollars (and hundreds of people) are needed to make a full length movie, a multiplayer game, or a multi-season TV series
But compare that to a humble book...
not gonna lie the first time I generated this data and chart it was so jaw dropping I immediately checked to confirm it was right https://t.co/CgvqVhFghs
