There are great assets and there are great companies. The latter is a complex, dynamic ecosystem where people work to create new assets and businesses that change the value of the enterprise. Price is not the most important factor in assessing potentially great companies.
Klarman is a great investor. But this quote reflects his roots as an investor dealing with assets in a somewhat static world. His world is not dynamic, massive value is not being created and will not change much. So for him, yes, it appears as if price is all that matters.
