@ryanripkenshow Heartbroken, pissed, bewildered, all exacerbated by the fact that @MElias straight up lied to us fans. We are 2 1/2 games out of a playoff spot and we received NOTHING that can enhance our lineup tomorrow.
.@BarackObama spent 87 days campaigning in Iowa in 2007 and really developed a relationship with the state. He carried it by almost 10 in '08 and more than 6 in '12. No D has carried Iowa since.
When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain.
A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.”
That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love.
I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.
Remember Iowans, @RobSand is a supporter of Iowa's PUBLIC schools.
His opponent, Republican @ZachLahn owns a private school in Kansas backed by the private school industry cretins, the Koch brothers. Lahn is a support of PRIVATE school voucher scams that sunk Iowa education.
Iowa debate just proved proved two things: 1) @ZachWahls is a far better bet to take the Iowa Senate seat Dems so desperately need in Nov and 2) dem leadership must immediately cease burning $$$ in primary to bring down our best candidate. Enough of this nonsense. Onward.
Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach.
The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.
New Iowa Senate Poll:
Zach Wahls 56%
Josh Turek 38%
Who do Iowans think is more electable in the general against Republican Ashley Hinson: Wahls 72% (+7)
🚨 BREAKING! New polling shows @ZachWahls maintains a strong 18 point lead over Josh Turek in the Iowa Senate Democratic primary. https://t.co/4XTMzHPcmY
Charles Barkley risked getting fired on CBS last night, calling out Trump for attacking immigrants: “The way some of these immigrants are getting treated in our country right now is a travesty and a disgrace. What we’re doing to some of these amazing immigrants is really unfortunate and really sad.”

The question I keep wrestling with
Was the season a failure
The knee jerk is, a 2 seed losing to a 10 in round 2, how can that not be a failure
But that is way too oversimplistic
A team of kids who weren't picked to finish in the top 5 of the conference and had zero expectations finishing 2nd in conference and in the conference tournament, how could that possibly be a failure
I guess where I have landed is that this entire season was not a failure, it was a lesson
A lesson about expectations, about pressure, about being the favorite and not the underdog
Because the girls were basically underdogs the entire year until now and did not wear the favored mantle or the pressure that comes with it well
Pressure in rare occasions creates diamonds
But more often it shatters the material into a million pieces
That happened to the girls this year, as it did to Caitlin's squad in 2022
For them it was lesson learned
Now these girls have that same lesson in front of them
So is the season a failure?
No
It is a lesson
He’s been one of my favorite Coaches since I met him as one of Diggers Assistants @NDmbb back in 1985. Nos he’s back in his own backyard making some more of his own Coaching History. His story, his wife Margaret’s whom he met while working at ND, and his sons of whom have played for him and flourished are all getting to enjoy another march in MARCH!🏀🎙️🎧👍
