Fun AI project - developing a facebook style app where various system of record apps and tools post reports into a company feed. Our company teammates get a customized feed based on the channels they subscribe to.. (mockup data)
I've made a thing. Or rather got someone else to. Still a wip but it's live.
Thanks @JoeBGrech for making my idea a reality. ❤️

Like many of you, I continue to follow the news with a heavy heart.
I am glad to say that all @careem services are back to normal levels. Today was a balancing act, staying available for the community while ensuring Captains stayed out of harm’s way. We took the necessary steps to limit certain high-risk zones and managed delivery expectations so everyone could operate safely.
Behind the scenes, the Quik team is working hard to keep stores stocked with daily and Ramadan essentials. I just placed an order that got delivered in 16 minutes.
A huge thank you to our Captains and the Careem team for their incredible grit and dedication this weekend.
Praying for peace and sanity.
Parenting is hard.
Whenever I find myself struggling with it I think about the simplest, but best piece of parenting advice I ever heard:
Pro volleyball player Gabby Reece was having trouble with her teenage daughter and was questioning her parenting ability.
Her husband, legendary surfer Laird Hamilton, told her:
“You’re here and you love them. The rest is details.”
I meet a lot of accountants who aspire to be CFOs. Here's the thought experiment I ask:
You run into your CEO in the restroom and he/she tells you from the next stall over that your company is considering a new product line. Do you immediately think about how this affects...
- Financial reporting
- Month-end close processes
- KPI dashboards that would be useful
- Revenue recognition policies
- Auditor relationships
- Taxes
Or does your mind turn to...
- The size of the opportunity
- The resources and investment this could require
- The resulting ROIC of the opportunity
- How the business could finance the investment
- How the opportunity could help the company reach its goals and further its vision
- Whether the company has a sustainable competitive advantage in the market and how it could develop one if not
- How the company's board and investors will view the opportunity
- How the opportunity will affect relationships with other stakeholders, from creditors to competitors to members of the community (and everyone in between)
- Whether there is a role for M&A to accelerate growth in the space
- What pair of limited-edition Jordans you’re going to buy to celebrate this
- And, most importantly, whether the opportunity is likely to increase shareholder value or detract from it
Be honest. If the former, that's fine—but that's the mindset a controller needs. If you want to be a valuable CFO, cultivate the perspective of the latter.
As people come to terms with the weight of our new environment, they are slowly beginning to realize how radically things have changed. One area in particular that has changed - the required level of "corporate performance" needed to simply survive (let alone thrive). 🧵
We searched for keywords like "ROIC" and "FCF" in our slide database, looking for companies with a great capital allocation framework.
In this thread we will share some findings 🧵
1. A beautiful chart from $TXN showing how its share price has followed FCF per share:
The United Kingdom is a great country but we face a profound economic crisis.
That’s why I am standing to be Leader of the Conservative Party and your next Prime Minister.
I want to fix our economy, unite our Party and deliver for our country.
Liz Truss can't say she wasn't warned that her plan was a fairy tale.
Rishi Sunak(former Chancellor) - "We have to be honest. Borrowing your way out of inflation isn't a plan - it's a fairy tale."
My thread on McKinsey's slides went crazy viral.
Many have asked for the slides with:
1. All ideas & examples
2. A step-by-step template
It's worth $49, but you can get it for free.
RT this, comment "Slides" and I'll DM you a link.
