I have to agree on the importance of this fact. Two things baffle my coastal elitist mind: why almost half the voters DO like Trump, and why people who don't like trump voted for him anyways. And are those two questions connected? Actually the same question?
Strong essay, @RadioFreeTom. Neither hopeless nor pollyannaish. But I fear that not ALL his sycophants will be "incompetent" -- it's the terrible but competent I worry about. Do you really think "all of them ... can be beaten?"
@john_sipher @RadioFreeTom@ZackBornstein We're electing a dictator to πππ€ππ prices back to where they were 5 years ago, because we've never heard the word deflation, and DEFINITELY never looked into the downsides. What could go wrong? π±
Feels like fear-mongering, but it's all things Trump's upper crust supporters WANT him to do.

@jwb625 Good thought but it was def. a very early memory: disjointed, vague, and only partly grasped at the time. Clearly a little traumatic. I found the ep on freeverse. Pretty mind-blowing after 55 yrs! Didn't completely match my memory; the colors were so bright! (Our TV was B&W.)
@jwb625 I would have been 3, so that makes sense. Wow, I always thought I would never know whether it was reality or not. Thank you, Jay B. My biggest question that remains is -- how the hell was I watching Dragnet at 3?????
This Texan Christian legislator is my new hero. Simply, and perfectly, explained, @jamestalarico. Thank you so much for saying this.
I'll be in Austin in two weeks for a wedding, you should stop by to say hi.
