@gtconway3d There seems to be a German word for everything, Until the best one is unearthed fir this I am sticking with Schadenfreude. The English one-word equivalent is, believe, it or not, epicaricacy.

@shaunpcassidy @purrmonsta Ignorance gets you nowhere in life. Gumption and persistence can get you pretty far, but if you’re ignorant, sooner or later it hamstrings you. Maybe one doesn’t realize / notice the lost opportunities that a lack of education causes but have no doubt, the costs are high.

@shaunpcassidy It’s not so much where you get the education, but it IS the education that matters. I have hired people with undergrad and graduate degrees that I have had to let go, but the ones I kept were educated. It didn’t matter where they were educated; only that they were.
