It’s hardly a hot take, but you have to take your hat off to how the NFL has successfully exported that product internationally(and continues to do so). Real dedication from UK fans - and getting onto the tube was like walking into a retail store there was that many jerseys.
I’ve watched an increasing amount of American football in the past 18 months on the TV, but yesterday was my first time seeing the NFL in the flesh at Wembley. To see the fan base that’s been cultivated in Europe - the passion, the knowledge, the colour - in the flesh was epic 🏈
As ever, @CaseyNewton’s Platformer newsletter cuts through a lot of the hysteria and ‘hot takes’ on yesterday’s news. Well worth a read to understand what’s happened, what hasn’t happened and what might happen:

Further context: WAGMI tried to buy Bradford City earlier this year and got effectively chased out of town. Useful explainer on that, and WAGMI, here: https://t.co/pstYItmN4h.
This is definitely one to watch with interest.
If you're wondering why the takeover of a fourth-tier football club is worth knowing about: this isn't just any takeover, it's one by a DAO and an organisation whose whole ethos is built around the opportunities presented by web3.
WAGMI UNITED COMPLETE TAKEOVER OF CLUB
Crawley Town Football Club can today confirm that investment group WAGMI United LLC have purchased Ziya Eren’s controlling shares of Crawley Town Football and Social Club Limited.

Crawley not the first sports property to do this; last week's excellent @7League Women's Digital Digest highlighted the example of @cortdao.
But it's the first in pro football, and very much at odds with football fandom in the UK, and the traditional models of club ownership.
I’ve thought about Lee and his family a lot today.
This is a hard read, but an important one. Brilliantly written by @OliverKay, and I’m in awe of the strength of Rachel and Richie.

A sold out Camp Nou, and over 150,000 currently live streaming on YouTube. And this after activations in London and the success of ticket sales for this summer’s @UEFAWomensEURO this week.
What an incredible week for the game. Long may it continue.
