कुछ दो-तीन सौ रुपयों की पेंशन पाने के लिए यह व्यक्ति आज बहुत दूर से खटाडा सी साइकिल पर office आया।

इन लोगो की समस्याओं को सुनना और दूर करना मेरा प्रतिदिन का काम है। पर आज कुछ अलग हुआ।

जब यह व्यक्ति आया तो सभी बैठे लोग खड़े हो गए, मेरा स्टाफ भी। अन्य लोग जो अपने काम के सिलसिले में आये थे इन्हें जगह देने लगे और ‘मंत्री जी जय सिया राम’ आदि कहने लगे। पश्चात सहकर्मियों ने मेरा इनसे परिचय कराया।

कभी लालबत्ती की गाड़ी से सफर करने वाले इस व्यक्ति से जब पूछा गया, ‘क्यों अकेले आते हो? किसी को साथ ले आते गाड़ी पर’

उनका उत्तर था, “जब तक जान है किसी पर बोझ नही बनना। पार्टी बाले गाड़ी भिजवाते है पर जब मैं उनके किसी काम का नहीं, तो उनकी गाड़ी में क्यो जाऊ?”

मैंने पूछा, ‘बाउजी! पैसा नही कमाया क्या? आप तो मंत्री थे’

उनने मुस्कराते हुए कहा, ‘जितनी जरूरत है उतना कमाया है, और पेंशन से मिल जाता है’

इनके जाने के बाद अन्य लोगों ने बताया कि राज्य में UPA सरकार के चुनाव हारने के बाद से यह एक प्राइवेट फैक्ट्री में कुछ हजार रुपये मासिक में मजदूरी कर रहे है।
