Three months ago, I bought two unopened packs of the Japanese One Piece "Promotion Card Set 1, 2, 3" (commonly known as the Flower Card set) from a card community.
At the time, I felt that the art style across this 13-card set was incredibly consistent and highly collectible. Plus, back in 2023, most people used these cards for actual competitive play, so finding unopened packs in pristine condition was quite rare.
I picked up two sets in total, with an average cost of $150 USD each.
I just used https://t.co/HgbwLPzzVz, developed by @woody1good , to check SNKRDUNK. The total cost for a full set now—including fees and taxes—comes out to $800 USD! 😂
That’s over a 4x return. I'm starting to get itchy fingers—should I sell one of the sets?
@point_onefive I'm glad you put the 2nd Anniversary Four Emperors box set Luffy in S-tier. This card/figure is severely underrated. Thanks for sharing!
I believe you should clearly differentiate and analyze products that have both Japanese and English (US) versions, as their market positions and values are fundamentally different.
For example, the Four Emperors 2nd Anniversary Gift Box (English Version) was first released in the English language region. After Bandai saw the excellent sales performance, they decided to release the Japanese version.
Consequently, the English version holds a higher value, commanding a price of around $2,000 USD. On the other hand, the Japanese version was a reprint with a larger print run, which puts its market price at around $1,000 USD.
As for the Four Emperors Gift Box, since it is the original 2nd Anniversary set, I believe it deserves to be placed at least in A-tier.
Additionally, you should utilize SNKRDUNK (SNKR) to check the Asian market, which will yield more accurate results. Alternatively, you can use https://t.co/HgbwLPzzVz, a card research platform built with a trader’s mindset, to conduct price investigations. This will allow you to gain a much more precise understanding of the market.
Thank you for sharing all the same.
