Just bought $10,000 in $AMZN stock for a long term hold. I would say I’m looking at holding it for at least 10 years or until the company itself changes its business model dramatically.
@Euringer Well, I’m just a Plumber and I do own a Plumbing business so I’m really not knowledgeable enough to know much about it, but personally I like real people just being real. But the working world? They might demand this perhaps? I’m 51 and feel like a dinosaur lately. 😂
Some very poor revenue news coming out of retail this week. I’ll continue growing my cash stockpile here until I can find some deep value in this market.
3/3 The industry that is best shielded from these rate hikes will be pharmaceutical companies. That is where my focus is on buying for both dividends and capital appreciation. $MRK $PFE $BMY $LLY
1/3 We are in a environment of low yield dividend stocks that are flat on capital appreciation and rising interest rates. The Fed will not stop raising rates until they basically see high unemployment numbers.
2/3 The “Dividend Kings” we all love so much have NOT felt the high interest rates YET but will definitely feel them in the 2nd quarter of 2023. There’s a price to pay for rate hikes and so far the mortgage industry has really been the only industry that has felt it.
@traderstewie If you think about it it took thousands of your past descendants to create her. Each person is unique, end of story. Expose her to as many opportunities as you can and watch the beauty of life unfold. We have 3 kids. I know this story well.
@tbclem22@franchisewolf In Wisconsin here it’s been a successful business franchise for many years. They expanded and my sister built one in Georgia. It’s doing extremely well.
@therealdj0010@SCHDETF 2022 didn’t effect earnings of the dividend companies. These high interest rates means higher risk, and companies pay the price of these higher rates. $SCHD will definitely feel the pain in 2023. Especially 3rd quarter. No way around this. 2022 is irrelevant.
@KCProchaska What was your “start” like? Your first day, week etc? Would love to hear your story about the initial process that so many people never get past.
@LizHayesGallagh@hmac_sha1@calleymeans@Jesse_Livermore Question. In the 1700’s they used lard for cooking. During the Great Depression we began using large amounts of vegetable oils, concentrated corn sugars, processed fats. Could oil make a difference in health vs the sugar argument?
@hmac_sha1@calleymeans@Jesse_Livermore Does that make it bad? I don’t know, I’m asking? Research seems to indicate sugar itself isn’t the issue, highly processed cheap replacements are, especially the ones invented and sold during the Great Depression when we replaced lard with oil.
