Your Roth IRA should be 100% in stocks.

No bonds
No target retirement date funds
No money market funds

Use other accounts (e.g brokerage or pre-tax 401k) for those.

You want to maximize compounding in the Roth. Can rebalance later if needed with no tax impact.

If you have a child, open a brokerage account for them as early as possible. Contribute when you can, and encourage family members to gift funds when they’re able.

Put the money into QQQ and SPY.

By the time your kid graduates college, they’ll have a decent cushion to help buy a house or start a business.

@theficouple No. Tbh rich doesn’t hit till like $2.5m. Depends the age. But if you’re 60yo, you need a lot more than $1m to be sustainably rich
