@TheDrugMoney I was a kid, 4-14 years old. What do I know? For people my age it was more about your parents and where you grew up. My parents were great. I grew up in the Cleveland suburbs....so I think everywhere I go is fantastic!
@realEstateTrent Any big city in Spain. Tokyo. Paris, Amsterdam, London...but mostly during the daylight savings time months. In the dead of winter they are pretty quiet by 11pm
@RadioFreeTom @pokeyoaksbiker Exactly. My dad was born in 1930, the beginning of the Great Depression. Orphaned at ~4. Grew up in a Catholic orphanage near Cleveland and then foster homes. Eventually drafted into the Korean War.
How he managed to graduate from university and raise a family is beyond me.
@DividendBreeder My first week in France I had to visit the ER for (what turned out to be) an intestinal infection. X-ray, blood, tests, CT scan, IV, and antibiotics. Very good care. Dated and crowded facilities.
My insurance wasn't valid yet so it was all out of pocket. 120€.
@nikitabier Yes, all the charter about whether renting or buying is better financial misses this point. Do you want control of and responsibility for your space? Or do you want to (mostly) make it someone else's problem? That's a much bigger factor than the $$$.
