I don't think there are viable business models around community-fee based events around books/running/hobbies.
It's high risk, low-ticket value, energy-sucking (in terms of social media and comms) and a high-churn business. Can be a side-gig for extra bucks at best.
Thank you, my friend, President Trump, for your phone call and warm greetings on my 75th birthday. Like you, I am also fully committed to taking the India-US Comprehensive and Global Partnership to new heights. We support your initiatives towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict.
@POTUS@realDonaldTrump
Till someone disrupts their business model and eats their margins, nobody needs to worry. Also, the roads and products being sold are not so sexy. D2C dudes won't understand the TG here. But that's a conversation for another day.
Dhandha 101 is underrated. There's a place called Chikpet in Bengaluru which is the absolute opposite of Koramangala. Dingy buildings, narrow lanes. But 1000s of crores of business.
Hmmm
You’re an upgraded version of Dilliwallah ;)
I spent my raw days in Okhla, late 2000s / early 2010s, at @91springboard / other such startup factories, trying to pick up business-building-basic from anyone I could
Then returned in 2015 when I got an opportunity to work at @snapdeal, was (and am!) a @1kunalbahl fan, badi raatein guzaari in galiyon mein, too much unadulterated hustle, and a lot of startup-dreams were taking shape over tapri chai
And then again, couple years back, became a pilgrimage site when the absolute absolute legit-rockstar Rajeev Juneja Sir (@IRajeevJuneja) backed Leverage, who’d tell me “beta mere se AC ki baatein mat kiya kar, zameeni baat kar, dhandha vahan banta hai” .. time spent with him / in that amazing @Pharma_Mankind office has inspired me / team a lot over last few years .. (and ofc the beautiful Sai Baba statute right outside it)
You’ll see us demonstrating a bit of that when we publish few highlights this 31/3
& more ;)
Okhla is zameeni
Okhla is tapti dhoop mein sapne neeche utaarna
Okhla is dhandha 101
Can these Chikpet businesses be run more efficiently? Yes. Can the owners of these businesses acquire six-packs and obsesses over diet? Yes. Can they use more tech? Yes. But purpose of a business is to make profits. As long as that is happening, other things don't matter.
