When I was in the West Bank settlers attacked olive pickers, saying they were Hamas agents. IDF soldiers used the same pretext to stop the harvest. One soldier told me picking olives was a “political act.” A thread on things I saw while reporting for The New Yorker:
Six-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab, who pleaded to be rescued from Israeli forces, was killed by Israeli tanks, as were her aunt, uncle, and three cousins, as well as the paramedics who were trying to rescue her. @graiggraziosi https://t.co/Y7SDlA6bgO
@thejournal_ie This is fine. Nothing to see here. Just a normal working economy. Isn’t that right @LeoVaradkar (one man’s rent is another man’s income … you can now loose your job and home)
I urge people to watch and share this because in just 6 minutes this young Jewish girl nails down what politicians have failed to grasp for generations.
Quite brilliant.
A Washington Post investigation has found no proof of a Hamas command center under al-Shifa Hospital following Israel’s attack on the medical complex

At the end of the video you see Dunya speaking
“A 12-year old Palestinian girl, with the most beautiful of names Dunya, which means the world, lost both her parents, her sister and her brother, all killed in Israel’s shelling of her house. She also lost her leg. And Dunya said that while she will never forget her loved ones, she has to continue living. That she would become a doctor to help children as doctors helped her. But, Dunya did not live to become a doctor or to memorialize her family, she was killed a few days later in the strike on the maternity ward of Al Nasser hospital.”
12-year-old Dunia lost her leg in an Israeli airstrike that killed her whole family.
We filmed this video with Dunia during the seven-day truce, and yesterday an Israeli tank-fired shell killed her while she was recovering in Naser Hospital in Khan Younis.
@IsraelinUK@alexander_olly You threw the donated blood of Ethiopian Jews into the bin for years… let’s not try and fool anyone that you are ‘inclusive’
Israel said Gazans could flee to this neighbourhood - then it was hit.
Using on-the-ground footage, satellite imagery and mapping software, Sky News found that a building in Deir al Balah was hit on 5 December, one day after Israel told civilians they could flee to the city.
The moment Aljazeera Journalist Momen Al-Sharafi breaks the news that his entire family of 21 members were just killed in an Israeli Airstrike in #Gaza.
The look he gives as he is no longer able to talk, is heartbreaking.
"The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people is a moment to reaffirm their right to live in peace and dignity." @antonioguterres#PalestineRefugees need more than just aid.
They need a just solution.
