Extremely happy to be graduating with a distinction in my #Animal Behaviour MSc! Also, just found out that I’ve been awarded the Dean’s Commendation for Exceptional Performance. Special thanks to my supervisor @DardenSafi and @CrabExeter peeps @DrSylvia_Dimit for all their help!

“Sociability as a personality trait in animals”
In a new MS led by @C_C_Ioannou, we review how social behaviour can be considered as an individual-level trait, & what we can learn from this
(with special focus on social networks & collective behaviour)

New paper in @JZoology with @simonmreader and @naubinhorth on vasotocin brain gene expression in guppies exposed to varying levels of predation in the wild. Surprisingly, high pred guppies show higher VT expression.

Hey Laïla Akhtar - a Masters student - who's looking into animal behavior, more specifically how an animal’s social environment shapes individual behavior including their sexual behavior, mate choice & foraging choices.
Ft & thanks @mllexlaila

@LysanneSnijders @RalfKurvers @AlanTump@UWI_StAugustine Congrats! Such an interesting paper!! Do you think cooperative foraging might be occurring in these large groups (perhaps between females) that confer advantages?
Interesting talk by @RalfKurvers & @PRomanczuk about collective decision-making in fish and how social interactions may improve or worsen collective decisions. What we can learn from fish? Collective Intelligence or #CollectiveStupidity@mpib_berlin@BerlinSciWeek
Really interesting read - @DardenSafi et al. found that Trinidadian guppies use the simple ‘walk away’ strategy in response to defecting social partners which in turn result in assortment by cooperation. https://t.co/aaGg6xAT5l

Great talk by @pauledwardrose discussing extremophile flamingos in zoo environments and its applications to animal care developments @BIAZA#virtualzooscience2020
