Prof for Research on Teaching and Learning English @jkulinz | Applied linguist (spoken corpora, ELF interaction, creativity, multiling) #ELFinTIGs#voice3online
Really quite fascinating what @antlabjp just shared... (and still a little scary...) As an ELF researcher, the AI robots' language use presents and sounds 'hyper-US-American' to me though. Which raises all kinds of issues... intended/by choice or AI tool side effect? 🤔
AI tools are getting so powerful. Today, I created an AI-powered podcast, where two AI robots discuss three of the main tools of #AntConc, using only the official help guide as a source. It's not perfect, but still quite fascinating. See what you think.

Very happy to have chaired innovative papers by my #JKUlinz colleague @RieglerStefanie on pragmatic annotation and potenials of AI and by former Vienna colleague @vukovicva on syntactic alignment - nearing the end of full Day 2 @ELF14conference 🤓
Day 2 at @ELF14conference - here we go 😊 Off to an interesting and inspiring start listening to Alessia Cogo speak about ELF and critical language pedagogy

Also in our playlist: Day 2 of the #ToolGallery on #VOICE was all about its behind-the-scenes technical aspects. @simar0at and Hannes Pirker talked about the #OpenAccess-technologies used in the spoken-language corpus VOICE, such as #NoSketchEngine.
