What was most touching to me about #ESA2024 was the plenary on academic freedom. Seeing Hong Kong ranked amongst world's top 10 autocratisers & top 6 in diminishing freedoms in Dr. Judit Takacs's slides was 💔 but validating: this is the truth of what Hongkongers have been living
