This week in class, we were instructed to read about campaigns, specifically when it comes to addressing ageism. There are particular characteristics of campaigns that may prove to be effective when campaigning.

@activeagingdoc Completely agree! Aging adults deserve the same respect as an other individual. There’s no changing of the narrative occurring when we stick to our old ways and continue to use this harmful language.

@activeagingdoc Sidewalks are essential when it comes to designing age friendly neighborhoods. My neighborhood does not have proper sidewalks throughout the neighborhood in order to accommodate any aged individuals, especially older adults.
Erin Maruzella was a guest speaker for our class last week. She discussed her experience as an age-friendly design consultant. She emphasized the importance of designing inventions, place or systems with age in mind. It's with the utmost importance that no one is left out.
