Israel killed every single person in this photo in Lebanon.
Every. Single. One.
All journalists.
Targeted and assassinated intentionally.
For reporting the truth from the frontlines.
My coming of age years had Saddam, Qaddafi, Ali Saleh, Ben Ali, Mubarak, and the new kid Assad junior dictators of their countries. We all know how each one ended, and the wilderness their downfalls brought their peoples. You’d think their successors would learn -apparently not!!
Israel's decision to send troops into Lebanon, a sovereign nation, is not a "limited ground operation".
It is an invasion.
Our government's hypocrisy is on full display. Its failure to defend international law and stand up to Israel is a moral disgrace.
Israeli propaganda would have you believe that the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of rockets *they* launched at Gaza and Lebanon for a year were rather meant to … tickle the Hamas and Hezbollah folks out of their bunkers ROFLing and letting their hostages go?
The language of whitewashing:
🇮🇱: Invades Lebanon
Media: Israel sends troops
🇮🇱: Bombs civilians
Media: Blasts heard, people say
🇮🇱: Destroys Rafah
Media: A limited operation
🇮🇱: Blocks aid
Media: Hunger stalks Gaza
🇮🇱: Flattens apartment buildings
Media: A targeted strike
Today, my friend, Kamel Jawad of Dearborn, Michigan was murdered by an Israeli air strike in Lebanon
Israel killed an American citizen with weapons provided by the US government
One of the kindest and most generous humans I ever met
إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون
For the past year, millions of us around the world have made repeated, desperate calls for a ceasefire. We demanded an end to the genocide. We warned of a disastrous regional conflict.
We were ignored.
Governments have fuelled the machinery of war. Their indifference to human life has destroyed prospects for peace and endangered us all.
All of this violence was entirely avoidable. Without urgent de-escalation, more unimaginable horror is on the horizon.
It’s time to listen to the voices of ordinary people across the globe calling for peace.
That means ending the root cause of this appalling cycle of violence: the occupation of Palestine.
A point of ridicule- from pro-Israel people especially - of the Iranian operation is that no Israelis were killed. This is an incredible admission about their own preference for mass indiscrimate slaughter and shredding of human life. They cannot fathom what actual targetted strikes at military infrastructure look like.
The relentless bombardment of hospitals and civilians in Gaza is intolerable. It’s against international humanitarian law - it must stop and stop now. The misuse of hospitals by Hamas does not justify attacks by Israel. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
The situation facing staff and patients in Gaza’s hospitals is catastrophic. Everything must be done to restore its healthcare system and protect those in desperate need.
I pray especially for the courageous staff and the patients of the Anglican-run Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza.
Please hold our Anglican sisters and brothers, and all the civilians of Gaza, in your prayers.
Wordless commentary on the “barbaric” attacks by hate-peddling anti-semitic Palestinian Arabs on #TheOnlyDemocracy in the Middle East that we keep being told about.
