3 yrs ago, in Abuja, #Nigeria's Federal Capital, & across many state capitals all over the country, new administrations were inaugurated. Across the country, many of the mandates were dodgy. The records across the country have sadly reflected that.

By the skin of their teeth, the people of @NG_AbiaState, instituted a government installed with popular mandate & no godfathers. 3 yrs later, the results are clear for all to see.

Yesterday, I joined Governor @alexottiofr & @abiastategov & the people of Abia State in the state capital, Umuahia, to examine the journey of the past 3 yrs.

The record of projects accomplished is magnificent, headlined by 1,074 km of roads delivered in 3 yrs. It is the distance from Aba to Kano plus Owerri to Okigwe on top.

But that is not nearly as important as the end of un-government that was inflicted on the state & its people through the ruin of the 24 yrs of the #LowBudgetBanditry of @OUKtweets, @taorjiochendo, & @IkpeazuOkezie.

My point was simple: Projects matter but dignity is everything & enhancing it is the constitutional metric for proper governance in #Nigeria.

This begins with legitimate government. There is nothing beyond the capacity to pillage of anyone who can steal the mandate of the people.

In Abuja, for instance, there is a Minister who claims to do projects. But there is no water in Asokoro; no electricity in Maitama; no functional sewage in the city; & schools are shut for most of the year.

By contrast, in Abia, the State is spending 20% of the budget on education, 15% on health; arrears of pension& public debts have been cut by two-thirds & a Disabilities Commission headed by @DOanyaele is proving that it is possible to run an inclusive government for #PWDs.

A lot has been accomplished in Abia but there is much yet to be done. None of that can be envisaged, however, if the refreshing promise of the @alexottiofr administration is only an interregnum in a baleful record of resilient #Ochichiri or #Ungovernment that goes back to the criminal banditry of @OUKtweets.

Under the current administration in Abia, the vision is crystallized; the values are coherent, & the record is clear. The #Payoff is a state whose people now know what dignity & hope look like once more. It is a state where the smile has returned to the faces of the people.

But the age of #MotherExcellency cld yet return. The State will only be truly free when the people decide that it is banished for good. For #NdiAbia, #NigeriaDecides2027 is existential. These foundations need to be defended.

The ruling party has denied them their tickets. Like sore losers, they have crawled back to join the NDC. They hope to ride on Peter Obi’s popularity after betraying the Movement.

Because below are the names of those very unfortunate lawmakers that rode on Obidient Wave & later decamped to the APC. They actually think that we are stupid? Now they will understand why we are called the Mob

The Obidients will decide who will be in that National Assembly. There is no forgiveness in politics because lives are at stake. Hunger is involved. Families are involved. Joblessness is at stake. Japa is at stake. If it’s forgiveness you seek, you should visit the nearest church.

Those who abandoned Nigerians (at the point of our needs) to party & lounge with the Enemy, will be punished at the polls. We are not the devilish APC, we are not politicians either.

None of us is your slave. The names you see below will fail fantastically. Mark their names, the NDC should note that these are “Persona non grata,” they won’t have our votes this time. We don't want to associate with any of them.

We will use them as scapegoats to set a very big example. We are going to teach them the lesson of their lives. They will serve as perfect examples, a constant reminder to others that treachery won’t go unpunished. Those who work against Nigerians will receive their reward

In 1995, I was with Gani in Hotel Presidential. We were defense counsel to Ken Saro-Wiwa and Ogoni leaders. Someone told Gani that the hotel has been leased to Chagoury family. Gani was livid. “Why did you bring me to Abacha hotel? Don’t you know I am at war with Abacha? Don’t you know that Chagoury is Abacha, Abacha is Chagoury”

Gani ordered that we leave the hotel that night. The Ogoni leaders who brought us there begged and apologized. But we left.

Gani knew Abacha and Chagoury were inseparable. It is ironic that the man who is NADECO and supposedly fought against Abacha is deep in bed with Abacha closest undertakers.

Tinubu has changed even what NADECO means. He has blurred all boundaries and destroyed categories

Gani would be completely surprised at Bayo Onanuga et al taking orders from Abacha bag men.
