The only podcast in the multiverse that pits humans against machines in a pre-apocalyptic college football predictioneering battle royale to the death.
@NoCoastJake@Caseysplatts This is so true. Worst animal on earth besides maybe those one wasps who lay their eggs inside caterpillars and their young eat their way out. #natureismetal
@colecubelic If anyone is complaining about it they either didn’t watch or they should just stop watching football. Getting to see multiple marquee matchups that otherwise wouldn’t have happened was great.
Feels like a good time to mention the average final score of the CFP title game has been 41.8-21.7, and none of the last six games have had a final margin smaller than 15 points.
We were told the new format would:
👎Destroy the regular season
👎Lead to a less competitive post-season
👎Ruin CFB forever
Instead we get the best natty in 6 years
@antonazucar Fair. BUT how many of those teams had a year one coach that took an FCS team to the FBS, whipped the shit outta their conference from day one, parlayed that to a P4 job, and competed for a natty immediately?
In year one, with more or less a new team, C-Cigs...
✅️Had the best season in Hoosier history
✅️Made it to the CFP
✅️ Lost two games to the two teams playing in the Natty (by a combined 33 points)
@RopeADopeRadio@SamENole@BrettKollmann Exactly what we mean by #theFirstLawofCFB... intrigue cannot be destroyed it can only be moved around CFB.
In the context of the CFP expansion that means the importance of a few big name matchups might wane a bit... but previously meaningless matchups soak up that intrigue.
Change seeding, bring more CFP games to campus, regulate NIL/ x'fer portal. Plenty of work still to be done. But...
👉 This was one of the best regular seasons of CFB since 2007.
👉 And the playoff absolutely did its job and we will crown one of two best/most deserving teams.
The four-team playoff was a show.
The 12-team tournament is a genuine championship. Having a genuine championship ELEVATES the regular season.
This was the best college football season of the last 60 years.
Indiana did not deserve the vitriol it received during and after its first-round CFP loss to Notre Dame.
It’s quite possible that the Hoosiers’ only losses this season came to the two best teams in college football.
