Why is he lying about Kaganovich like all Jews on Twitter? Lazar Kaganovich was both Jewish and a full voting member of the Soviet politburo from 1930 until 1957 without interruption. I see this particular lie regarding Kaganovich so often I am convinced it comes from Mossad.

Blessed Severian Baranyk and Blessed Yakym Senkivskyj were Ukrainian Greek Catholic priests and monks of the Basilian Order who gave their lives as martyrs during the brutal Soviet occupation of western Ukraine in the early days of World War II. Both men embodied quiet pastoral dedication and deep faith in a time of ideological persecution, and their stories remain intertwined through shared vocation, monastery, and tragic end.

Severian Stefan Baranyk was born on July 18, 1889, in Uhniv, then part of Austrian Galicia. He entered the Basilian monastery at Krekhiv as a young teenager in 1904, professed perpetual vows in 1910, and was ordained a priest in 1915. Known as a gifted preacher with a golden tongue, he showed particular tenderness toward orphans and young people. In 1932 he became hegumen, or prior, of the Basilian monastery in Drohobych, where his joyful presence and care for the community left a lasting impression.

Yakym Senkivskyj, born on May 2, 1896, in Velyki Hayi near Ternopil, followed a somewhat different path to the same monastery. After theological studies in Lviv and priestly ordination in 1921, he earned a doctorate in theology at Innsbruck, Austria. He joined the Basilians in 1923, served in rural parishes, and ministered energetically to youth and children while organizing Eucharistic and Marian societies in Lviv. In 1939 he succeeded Father Severian as hegumen in Drohobych, where townspeople remembered his warm smile, humility, and ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.

When Soviet forces annexed the region after the 1939 partition of Poland, the NKVD began suppressing religious life. On June 26, 1941, as German armies advanced, the secret police arrested both priests along with other monks in Drohobych. In the chaos of retreat, the Soviets murdered many prisoners. Father Severian’s mutilated body was later found in a mass grave near the prison, his chest carved with the sign of the cross by his torturers. Father Yakym, according to eyewitness accounts from fellow inmates, was boiled to death in a cauldron on June 29. Their deaths, though separated by only days, stand as powerful witnesses against totalitarian hatred of faith.

Pope John Paul II beatified both men on June 27, 2001, as part of a group of Ukrainian Greek Catholic martyrs. Today they are remembered on June 28 in the liturgical calendars of their church. In an era when believers faced systematic attempts to erase religion, Blessed Severian and Blessed Yakym exemplified steadfast service, pastoral love, and ultimate fidelity.

St. Pope Gregory the Great’s “Moralia on Job” is a truly astounding work. Completed near the end of the 500’s, it was so penetrating in its mystical and spiritual analysis of Job that even St. Thomas Aquinas, in his own commentary, completely skipped the spiritual reading of Job, saying Gregory had done it so well “that nothing further need be added to this sort of commentary.”

In the Moralia, St. Pope Gregory the Great reads the story of Job (partly) eschatologically, and speaks multiple times about how the Church will be profoundly weakened before the arrival of Antichrist, but that this is ultimately to the benefit of the elect, and permitted by God to bring the reprobate into condemnation.

It’s a very humbling and eye-opening observation to read, for Gregory constantly sees in such things God opening highways of mercy and reward for the truly righteous, if only they refuse to be scandalized, which turns Catholics into heretics, schismatics, and apostates.

This is just one of several observations he makes on this front:

“While Holy Church appears more commonplace in this way, deprived of the power of signs, it happens both that the rewards of good people grow greater, because they venerate the Church in the hope of heaven and not because of the signs that she presents, and the minds of bad people are quickly shown to be against the church; they neglect the following of the invisible reality that she promises, because they are not impressed by visible signs.

Accordingly, since the humble faithful are deprived as it were of the multitude of manifest signs, the hidden plan holds a terrible trial, more generous in mercy for those who are good but heavier in righteous anger for those who are bad.

So before Leviathan [Antichrist] becomes manifest and conspicuous, in large part the signs of power in Holy Church cease, and we are told, ‘Poverty goes before his face’ (Job 41:13).”

His Beatitude Mar Polis III Nona (Paul III Nona) is the new Patriarch of the Chaldean Church of Babylon. He was elected on April 12 and enthroned on May 29 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Baghdad, Iraq.

Chaldean Catholics are largely Eastern-rite Assyrians who entered into communion with the Catholic Church in the 16th century.

The name “Chaldean” does not indicate direct descent from the ancient Chaldeans of Babylon (the people mentioned in the Holy Scriptures), but was adopted for historical and biblical reference (Abraham came from “Ur of the Chaldees”).

Today they represent one of the largest Christian communities in Iraq and in the diaspora.

Wnioski z tego płyną następujące:
- Nawet jeśli prawo zezwala na noszenie garnituru między wiernymi, nie stanowi to idealnego rozwiązania.

- Ci, którzy przywiązują znaczenie do zachowania autentycznego ducha kapłańskiego, muszą kochać swą sutannę.

- Obrona sutanny jest w istocie wyrazem troski o zachowanie tożsamości kapłańskiej oraz powołania.

Moje obowiązki jako pasterza obligują mnie do patrzenia na rzeczy z odpowiedniej perspektywy. Musiałem potępić wprowadzanie wbrew prawu kościelnemu garniturów kapłańskich oraz porzucania stroju duchownego jako przyczynę, prawdopodobnie główną, poważnego kryzysu dyscypliny kościelnej we Włoszech. Ci, którzy prawdziwie kochają kapłaństwo, nie będą lekkomyślnie eksperymentować ze strojem kapłańskim!”
