@swyx what ppl don't get is in this debat is evals are required for well defined task that need high confidence and AT THE SAME TIME are an anti-pattern for horizontal tools to avoid local maxima. think text->sql/query lang app vs generic agentic coding or voice assistant

Feels like we will go over the RAG cycle all over again: vector embeddings to search tools -> hybrid search of tools -> rerankers for better tool search -> agentic tool search 🤷‍♂️also bet we will see someone build toolboxes that abstract this away

My timeline is full with MCP/Agents/Agentic and now A2A. Every vendor is jumping.

But isn’t it ironic that there isn’t much about how good LLMs are at tool calling when you have 20+ possible tools to call (all based on a text desc)

@karpathy As a mech eng grad, I feel the state of web dev is crazy. Other eng disciplines were able to agree on standards and move on to higher level things. maybe we should just let AI create THE framework and stop this nonsense from the web dev industrial complex

@YardenShaked @danielpearson @danielpearson we don’t just look at random others, we look at companies like yours in terms of vertical, spend and AOV. And then we check if they have better metrics than you (e.g. CPP). So if someone is very similar to you bud does way better it’s worth a look!

Q for data twitter hive mind: A common UX challenge in BI tools is when a filter does not apply to all tiles (bcs of diff data sources). Who has built a good UX around that? Even big players like Looker don't have a solution @hamiltonulmer @medriscoll @jamiedavidson
