It's posted. No turning back now. The process of giving a @TEDxCharlotte is grueling... but what matters most is how the message lands with those who hear it. Snippet below. WATCH IN FULL HERE >> https://t.co/OtpZDyfbA9 Enjoy!
Our Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Dept is full of amazing people, and run by a great Chief. So deeply hurt today for the women and men in @CMPD and the other agencieS impacted. So much pain. In the days to come, let us be the helpers for them. @cmpdchief
Today is a tragic day in Charlotte. Anytime a member of law enforcement is killed or injured in the line of duty, the whole profession hurts. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen officers as well as the other officers who were shot, including 4 of our own CMPD Officers. The bravery of these officers and all other officers who responded to the scene is unmatched. In the face of danger our people stepped up, committed to their oath to protect and serve. The days, months and years that follow this senseless tragedy will undoubtedly be difficult. But I couldn’t be more proud of how our local, state and federal first responder agencies came together today and I’m confident that’s what will carry us through.
Wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else today. Thank you, @cmpdchief, @CMPD, the CMPD Foundation, and @GarySinise/@GarySiniseFound who was real and vulnerable. A lesson for the 2,000-person crowd.
I would also like to thank @MollyGrantham for another fantastic job as emcee of the luncheon. She was joined by guest speaker @garysinise who contributed $25,000 through the @garysinisefound to CMPD for officer wellness and youth programming. (3/4)
Spent my morning with over 150 incredible women of York County as part of @UnitedWayYC’s annual CommuniTEA sponsored by @DukeEnergy to benefit the Women United program. Our keynote speaker was the strong, hilarious, and honest @MollyGrantham. She was a hard act to follow 🫖👒💐
Happy New Year’s Eve!

In bed by midnight.
Not posting until New Year’s Day.
Missing the deadline and setting a low bar to start off 2024. Guess this helps assure I only go up from here.
Post-Christmas present to myself. Annual mammogram. Walked in this morning and greeted Maggie, the mammography machine, like an old friend. She can save your life; might as well get personal and name her.
Have you had yours lately?

Beautiful words about respecting Parker were in print this past October. They’re now in acrylic, for her, forever. Grateful for gift-giving greatness and @theodenjanes for writing the article so well. He captured it all.

Thank you, @visitnctm, for yet again the best night on The Polar Express. Hobie was in heaven, while on the tracks. Such a cool North Carolina experience. #PolarExpress
@DavidWhisenant Could go on and on (and later on tonight's shows, we might), but you should read his own words about the journey. He puts the past three plus decades into great perspective, about what a ride it has been >> https://t.co/4lzkEChHZg
Soak it in, @DavidWhisenant. Highly deserved.
Photo of @DavidWhisenant speaking at our staff Christmas luncheon last week. It was meant to be an honor to him. He, in true David fashion, made the moment about everyone else.
Today is Whiz's last day after 32 years of reporting in our community. He is beloved... #More
...Every ounce of credit is deserved. @DavidWhisenant leads with professional empathy and knows why words matter. He teaches us all -- our entire newsroom -- by walking the walk, and it's bittersweet to have it be his last day on-air. It's also a congrats: He's earned retirement.
