Scale, execution, cost advantages and eventually software/services ๐ Tesla's manufacturing moat took years to develop too. IREN doesn't need to become Tesla .. just turn its power advantage into durable, profitable AI infrastructure economics.
@osarood@amitisinvesting@danroberts0101 is building exactly that at $IREN ๐ A power and infrastructure moat that's taken years to assemble. 5GW of secured power doesn't happen overnight!
Fair point! Tesla's journey revision ๐
2012: Model S launched
2017: Model 3 launched, scaling manufacturing was still a huge challenge (remember this quite well pre covid)
2018: Finally hit 5,000 Model 3's/week
2020โ22: Manufacturing scale and cost advantages really started taking shape
Took Tesla nearly a decade to build that manufacturing scale moat. IREN seems on a similar journey? Years securing power, building infrastructure and scaling operations. Moats take time to develop .. rarely in the 1st inning ๐
@osarood@amitisinvesting Wasn't Tesla just an EV manufacturer building infrastructure and scale before FSD became the moat? ๐ Who says neoclouds can't evolve beyond just bringing GPUs online with the winners eventually becoming mini hyperscalers?
Been thinking about this whole neocloud debate since Friday. Hyperscalers displacing every neocloud feels a bit like Nvidia deciding it should vertically integrate into HBM. They absolutely can bring more in house, but specialized suppliers often exist for a reason - capital efficiency, speed, focus and flexibility.
@StockSavvyShay curious how you think about this analogy
@osarood@The_AI_Investor buy the ones with sane balance sheets, not CoreWeave style financial engineering โฆ and with some research at least 1-2 will be found ๐
@osarood@The_AI_Investor Could beโฆ though if hyperscalers eventually decide the easiest way to get the power/capacity is to buy the neoclouds, that may not be the worst ending for shareholders ๐
Every leader has seasons where theyโre carrying more than people see.
Personal pressure. Company pressure. It all hits at once sometimes.
You may be judged based on couple of interactions instead of years of consistency.
Donโt let one season define you.
Regroup. Keep building
If someone asks, โWhatโs your point?โ itโs okay to answer, โIโm just putting my perspective on the table.โ Not every discussion needs an action item. Sometimes the value is making your conviction known.
Iโve never regretted asking a tough question. Iโve only regretted the times I stayed quiet because I was worried how it would be perceived. Iโd rather ask the hard question with conviction than stay quiet trying to sound elegant.
At the beginning, Iโll listen to stories about pipeline, meetings, and engagement. After months, I only want to talk about one thing: measurable outcomes.
If your response to a tough question is, โYou donโt understand how this works,โ youโve missed the opportunity to actually explain how it works.
@SahilBloom 100%!! Founders owe their teams more than optimism. They owe them accountability, hard conversations, measurable progress, and the humility to challenge assumptions before reality does. If your strategy canโt withstand hard questions, it probably isnโt a strategy yet.
