@LilDashback@ThePettiestLA Rui is a good player, but his fit on the team is rough especially if Lebron is back. He was one of the few role players we have that have actual value in the league. I think if we can flip him for a player that naturally fits better and get other assets, I’d do it
@SamQuinnCBS You talked all year saying LA should wait till the offseason to start fresh and reconstruct there roster. What the hell are they doing? It seems like they are going to run it back? What do u think there plan is?
@Tomerax@TrevorLane There are def A-list centers available for aggressive offers, maybe not as many younger ones but in either case, the Hornets are in need of a true #1 center and have more assets to give when 1 becomes available. Don’t know why LA passed on Clax
@jovanbuha@markgurman We are going into year 3 with Luka, AR, Bron trio and currently have no center under official contract on the roster. Letting Clax slide made 0 sense unless they are very confident in there ability to land a better center. Rob needs to be blasted if we don’t upgrade
@RyanLucas_LA I don’t hate it but I rather give this years 25 and a future with Vando and DK. Then throw 4yr 140-155 at Kessler hoping to force Utah into a S&T with the last future 1st
@WorldwideLakers Im thinking they trade 25 and a future 1st with Vando and DK for Herb, then throw the kitchen sink in salary cap at Kessler hoping to to either steal or make Utah settle for a S&T. I’d give Kessler 4 yr 140-155 to steal him
@Gchoc76@TheArmoTrader@AnthonyIrwinLA I just dont trust time lords availability if he is our best center option. Love him as a backup. I would’ve been okay with a Clax + aggressive moves for 3/D wings using the picks. That would’ve been acceptable to me. It would be unacceptable to sign time lord as #1 center
@TheArmoTrader@AnthonyIrwinLA Claxton at 2 year descending contract giving up no assets is much better than signing time lord at 17+ for multiple years. Kessler is literally the only good option left, anything short now is extremely disappointing
@Gchoc76@TheArmoTrader@AnthonyIrwinLA I think Claxton has had nothing to play for for years in Brooklyn. He isn’t an S tier center but he is a very serviceable starting center in the NBA with specific skill sets that are needed by this LA team. His contract is also not bad at all
@TheArmoTrader@AnthonyIrwinLA The key was that Claxton was FREE. Any other center is going to require assets that we desperately lack already. The only option better than a FREE claxton has to be Kessler. But I rlly hope they’ve got it lined up alr otherwise what a fumble
@SamQuinnCBS please break down the full picture here. At what value does Utah get wrecked to match? At what value do the Lakers get wrecked in an overpay? At what point does each team just agree on a sign&trade to not implode each other?
Does feel like we’re being set up for the Lakers giving Kessler >$40M/yr and daring the Jazz to match. Just gained ~$4-5M more space to do so now that Reaves’ market imploded.
@Tisseee12@SamQuinnCBS My guess is they have something lined up that includes there pick tomorrow. That pick isn’t eligible to be traded until they pick. Only question is who is that much better than a free Claxton? I know it’s a long shot but my only guess is Kessler
@LakerCentral365 The only thing I can think of that makes sense is something lined up with Kessler. Otherwise what other center option is more appealing than Nic Claxton for free?
@SamQuinnCBS IMO this is a problem. Wasn’t the new CBA supposed to bring parity across the league? Now, unless you’re getting top picks how are you supposed to escape any mediocrity? You can’t build through FA anymore. It’s basically all luck based now through the draft
@SamQuinnCBS What’s funny is LAs free agents are not necessarily the players on the roster holding them back. AR, LeBron, Smart, Rui, Hayes all played well this year. Realistically who on the market is better than these guys for them? They obviously can’t run it back right??
