Where were the debate questions many Californians have:
- Why do parents not have the right to know if their child is transitioning?
- Why is the state constantly raising almost every tax we pay?
- Why is it okay for taxpayer money to go to non-profits and NGOs where the money becomes unauditable and often magically disappears?
- Why is it okay for taxpayer money to be spent on incumbent campaigns (in the LA mayor's race for example)?
- Do you think it is at-all suspicious that Nithya Raman made an improbable comeback in the eleventh hour from mail-in ballots in the LA mayoral primary?
- Why are we continuing to invest billions in high speed rail that the citizens don't want (because it has been a proven failure)?
- Why is the state in favor of providing $150K to illegal immigrants to buy first-time homes when our citizens are struggling?
- Why is the state allowing our governor to travel around the country promoting himself for a job he won't admit to running for, while the state has so many problems that need addressing?
- Why is it that California takes in more tax money per capita than any other state, but can't operate without needing even more tax money?
- Does the state really need to spend the billions it is taking to build the capitol annex in Sacramento, using stone imported from Italy?
And finally, why isn't the press asking these questions?
So frustrating to see CNN ask questions that are actually federal issues or that do not address issues that the media consistently avoids. What about the corruption from taxpayer money being funneled to NGOs and non-profits with no audit requirements? What happened to the money that was supposed to go to the SoCal fire victims? Why aren't our water reservoirs full of water? Why are we subsidizing illegal immigrants while so many citizens are struggling financially? Why are we spending billions more than planned on the bullet train?
Just my two cents.
@Milajoy This is also caused by too many lazy, uninformed Californians who have been groomed by schools and the media not to question Democrats, and to only check the boxes with Ds next to their names. This is where we are, and we will pay for it.
@SteveHiltonx I talked to a 13 year old working a food cart last week. Is it okay to ignore labor laws for these businesses? Is child labor okay these days so long as you are an illegal immigrant? Where do they draw the line??
@ewarren Liz doesn't know how social security works. She gets a lifetime pension as a senator. Why don't you question why that is? Ordinary people, not public "servants" do not get anything close to what you get. And you pay nothing to social security. Explain why that is??
Let's review your environmental policies - outlaw barbecues for residents, but tell residents to buy their tacos from taco carts, not brick and mortar restaurants. These taco carts have no grease interceptors, and no filtration systems to capture contaminants from cooking. Brick and mortar restaurants are required to adhere to these environmental regulations. Last week I saw a 13 year old working at taco cart. He told me he was 13, and not in school. Are we also ignoring labor laws for taco carts? Is selective compliance with our laws your platform? Are you only enforcing laws that help in your election?
@ZavalaA Another stellar report from Ashley Zavala. The question is, where are other hundreds of "journalists" in California? Are their employers instructing them to close their eyes to the fraud and corruption that is so apparent. Ashley - keep the flame alive!!
@FoxNews Family must be always be held above government. Given the choice, parents would die for their children, but would not die for their country. This is truly the beginning of the end.
I remember as a kid spending my Sunday mornings pouring through the mountainous LA Times, reading each section with such great writers as Charles Champlin, Robert Hilburn and Jim Murray. I've seen the decline, and it is abysmal. The Orange County Register is now basically all AP articles (most all with a liberal bias), with a few local stories sprinkled in. Their weekday paper is generally less than 20 pages total. On 9-11 I could not find a single reference to al-Queda, the perpetrators of the terrorist attack.
Journalistic integrity is dying and needs to be restored. Major print publishers are mostly controlled by the left, and their integrity is greatly compromised. Sad times...
Why is it that Mamdani has NEVER publicly renounced Al-Qaida for its actions on 9/11?? His words are always carefully crafted to avoid putting any blame on Al-Qaida. He can praise the heroic first responders all he wants, but protecting Al-Qaida from responsibility is extremely telling of his actual allegiance. Check Chat GPT if you don't believe me.
