The reason why Venezuela is under attack
U.S. Southern Command chief General Laura Richardson just said the truth out loud:
the U.S. focus in Latin America isn’t “democracy” — it’s controlling oil, lithium, gold, and rare earth minerals. Venezuela, with the largest oil reserves and key strategic resources, is the main target
I was wondering when the media would start getting sued for their coverage of the Oct 7 attack and Israel’s response.
‘Actor Claudia Karvan and a group of pro-Palestine advocates have launched a series of racial discrimination complaints against News Corp papers, Sky News and more than a dozen of their highest profile commentators, including Andrew Bolt and Sharri Markson.
The Australian Human Rights Commission accepted for investigation four complaints, which relate to coverage of the October 2023 massacre and the ensuing Israel-Hamas war, including the extended political fallout and protests in Australia.
The complaints were made on behalf of Karvan, University of NSW associate professor Peter Slezak, Australia Palestine Advocacy Network president Nasser Mashni and eight other complainants..
The complaints alleged that various articles and media appearances made by the News Corp figures dehumanised and vilified Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims in Australia. The complaints further allege the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza was “trivialised” and that “Israeli atrocity propaganda” was reported as fact “without corroboration”.

Hi,
I'm Jewish. Many of my closest friends are too. My family is Jewish. My community is Jewish. Love them all.
I love Judaism. I host shabbat dinners, celebrate Jewish holidays, sing Jewish prayers, study Torah and love Jewish culture, history & expression.
But I'm not a Zionist. Zionism was a movement that said, let's create a Jewish state in a country that's 97%+ non-Jewish.
That's why, when Zionists bought land in Palestine from the 1900s-1948, they uprooted the people living on the land because they weren't jewish.
That's why, when Zionists created cooperatives in Palestine in the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s, they insisted on "Hebrew Labor", i.e., "Jews only" & they tried to expel Palestinian Arabs from working at Jewish-owned enterprises. https://t.co/oXfyJsWFtC
That's why, in 1948, Zionists militias ethnically cleansed 750,000 Palestinians from their homes.
That's why, from 1949-1956, Israeli forces shot & killed b/w 2,700-5,000 overwhelmingly unarmed Palestinians trying to return to their homes after the war. They had the wrong DNA! (source: B. Morris, Border Wars, p.416).
That's why Israel expelled another ~30-40,000 Palestinians from Israel from 1949-1959. https://t.co/1d4VqUjxvE
That's why Israel expelled another ~250,000 Palestinians from Gaza & the West Bank when it occupied those territories in 1967.
That's why Israel continued to expel Palestinians from the occupied territories from 1968-1993, many hundreds of thousands of them. They had the wrong DNA. https://t.co/16FarJ7vAw
Zionists wanted to create a Jewish State with a Jewish majority to ensure Jews made all important decisions in a land of overwhelmingly Palestinians.
That's why Israel has become such a pariah state over the years, because it's insistence on Jewish rule in a country with so many Palestinians.
That's why the Zionist movement has led Israel to become an apartheid state, according to every relevant human rights organization ( @ICAHD in 2010, @UNESCWA in 2017, @YeshDin in 2020, @AdalahCenter in 2020, @btselem in 2021, @hrw in 2021, @fidh_en in 2021, @alhaq_org in 2022, @Addameer in 2022, @AlMezanCenter in 2022, @cacalqudsuni in 2022, @AdvocacyJlac in 2022, @miftahpal in 2022, @ICJ_org in 2022, @DAWNmenaor in 2022, @amnesty in 2022), since it cannot grant the ~5-6 million occupied Palestinians Israeli citizenship & it cannot grant Palestinian citizens of Israel the same rights as Jewish Israeli citizens, both of which would jeopardize Jewish domination. Israel chose apartheid over democracy.
Zionism also helps explain why Israel is now committing genocide (according to @hrw, @amnesty, @MSF, @AlHaq, @UNHumanRights, @UN_HRC, @pchrgaza, @LemkinInstitute, @AlMezanCenter, @WarOnWant@PHRIsrael@BtSIsrael, @fidh_en, @WarOnWant, @theCCR, @ECCHRBerlin, @TheElders, @JURDIasso PHROC & 86% of the members of the International Association of Genocide Scholars), because, what a Zionist dream it would have been had Palestine been a land without any people on it!
The ideology itself incentivized genocide. You show me the incentives, I'll show you the outcome.
Do not conflate Judaism, that has existed for 3,300+ years, with your 150-yr-old political movement for Jewish supremacy between the River & the Sea, a movement that continues to uproot, displace, besiege, imprison, torture, rape, murder & genocide Palestinians.
Judaism will last as long as their are humans on the planet. Zionism is imploding in real time.
How does Australia allow it's citizens to join the IDF and then return to Australia as if they hadn’t committed a crime?
Shouldn't these Australian citizens sering in the IDF be investigated for crimes against humanity before being allowed to back into the country?

The Israel lobby in this country is largely run by oppressive, cancel culture bullies, often working in secret. They got me after I had written two @smh columns about the IDF murdering three Palestinian kids on a Gaza beach. The gutless Fairfax management of the time caved in and ran for the exits.

Hi Noa Tishby,
I'm Jewish. Many of my closest friends are Jewish. I love them all. My whole family is Jewish, I love them all too. My community is Jewish. Love them all. I love Judaism. I host shabbat dinners, celebrate Jewish holidays, sing Jewish prayers, study Torah & Talmud, and love Jewish culture, history and expression.
But I'm not a Zionist. Zionism was an ideology that said, let's create a Jewish state in a country that's 90%+ non-Jewish.
That's why, when Zionists bought land in Palestine from the 1900s-1948, they uprooted the people living on the land because they weren't jewish.
That's why, when Zionists created cooperatives in Palestine in the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s, they insisted on "Hebrew Labor", i.e., "Jews only" -- no Arabs allowed.
That's why, in the 1930s, Zionists expelled Palestinian Arabs from working at Jewish companies and business. (Think "whites only", but with the Zionists it was "Jews only.")
Because they were the wrong religion/ethnicity (source: Benny Morris, Border Wars, p.416).
The Zionists wanted to create a Jewish State with a Jewish majority, and there were simply way too many Palestinians that would have been incorporated into the borders of the new state, so they had to go, they had to be expelled. the ideology created the incentives, the incentives created the outcome.
That's why the state of Israel uprooted & ethnically cleansed another 30-40,000 Palestinians from the borders of the newfound state from 1949-1959, because those people were of the incorrect religion/ethnicity, thus rendering them an inherent threat to the state because they didn't have J-positive blood (source: https://t.co/1d4VqUk5lc).
Zionism was a political ideology that insisted on Jewish control, Jewish domination, Jewish supremacy in a land of mostly non-jews, in a land of mostly Palestinian Arabs.
That's why Israel has become such a pariah state over the years, because it's insistence on jewish rule in a country with so many non-jews.
That's why Zionism has led Israel to become an apartheid state, according to every relevant human rights organization (@ICAHD in 2010, @UNESCWA in 2017, @YeshDin in 2020, @AdalahCenter in 2020, @btselem in 2021, @hrw in 2021, @fidh_en in 2021, @alhaq_org in 2022, @Addameer in 2022, @AlMezanCenter in 2022, @cacalqudsuni in 2022, @AdvocacyJlac in 2022, @miftahpal in 2022, @ICJ_org in 2022, @DAWNmenaorg in 2022), because Israel gives Jews extra rights & extra privileges over the native non-jews in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza. Obviously it does. that's the point of Zionism.
Zionism also explains why Israel is now committing genocide, because, what a Zionist dream it would have been had Palestine been a land without any people on it! the ideology incentivized genocide.
So, please don't conflate my Jewish identify -- that has existed for 3,300+ years -- with your toxic, anti-Jewish values-political-ideology -- that has existed for less than 150 years.
Judaism will last as long as their are humans on the planet. Zionism is imploding in real time.
One last point. Historically, you were much more likely to be a Zionist if you were antisemitic. Zionists and antisemites have had and still have much in common, it's why today's antisemites are Israel's greatest allies. Here are a few articles on the topic for you to educate yourself:

The Jewish Council of Australia strongly condemns comments made on the Instagram page of a mosque in western Sydney, threatening ‘Christchurch 2.0’.
This threat is part of a broader trend of Islamophobia and rising far-right extremism and white supremacist organising in Australia which places the safety of all racialised groups at risk.
Sarah Schwartz, Executive Officer, Jewish Council of Australia, said:
‘We condemn the disturbing escalation of Islamophobia in Australia and stand united with the Muslim community at this time. We call on our Government to treat Islamophobia seriously and we condemn politicians who have encouraged or dismissed rising Islamophobia.
'Far-right extremism and white supremacist ideologies in Australia represent a serious threat to all of us. We can’t forget that the Christchurch massacre was carried out by an Australian man and demonstrates the real dangers of home-grown racism. We need to get serious about addressing and preventing violent racism in Australia.’
Dr Max Kaiser, Executive Officer, Jewish Council of Australia, said:
‘The Jewish Council of Australia continues to work with our Muslim and Palestinian allies to organise against Islamophobia, anti-Palestinian racism and antisemitism together. Our grassroots cooperation strengthens the battle against all forms of racism.’

Today, while I was at Garden City Mosque in Toowoomba which was subject to two arson attacks ten years ago, I received reports of threatened violence against a mosque in Sydney.
These threats are disgusting and have no place in Australia.

Today, Australia’s 39 universities endorsed a dangerous and politicised definition of antisemitism which threatens academic freedom, will have a chilling effect on legitimate criticism of Israel, and risks institutionalising anti-Palestinian racism. They did so without meaningful consultation with Palestinian groups or diverse Jewish groups who are critical of Israel.
The Jewish Council of Australia strongly opposes the antisemitism definition developed by the Group of Eight (Go8) universities and adopted by Universities Australia. By categorising Palestinian political expression as inherently antisemitic, it will be unworkable and unenforceable, and stifle critical political debate, which is at the heart of any democratic society.
The definition dangerously conflates Jewish identities with support for the state of Israel and the political ideology of Zionism.
