Jampad
I have always been fascinated by the idea of an open braistorm session amongst aspiring founders. Ever since I learnt about when Travis Kalanick used to host these, and how Uber actually came out of it.
Today we had our own version of the Jampad. 7 of us with varied professional backgrounds jammed for a few hours on all sorts of ideas. From educational toys to D2C brands, the potential of generic medicines, a new form of wealth tech and even how home buying in India needs to be disrupted.
It was by far one of the best ways to spend a Saturday morning. We are now going to make this a regular affair and aim to have at least 1 every month.
The "-1 to 0" stage of starting up is where you figure out the foundation of the company you will build. The idea of Jampad is to make this a collaborative exercise with a high quality peer group.

Penned down thoughts on the potential of Whatsapp as a 'super distribution channel' for India
What we’re seeing is WA becoming a “super-distribution channel” to build businesses for Bharat — allowing startups to create technology and distribution on top of something they interact with daily.

“I was an ‘entrepreneur’ before I knew what the word meant.” We all know Cred but @kunalb11’s journey is lesser known. From selling DVDs to running an internet cafe, he has done it all.

Only 15% of Indian unicorns have at least one female founder.
Seems low, until one notices this is despite only 8.4% of startup funding going to startups with women co-founders since 2014.
Why is this still an issue in 2022?…https://t.co/YiKLG7lXoM https://t.co/xMm3Rzywl0
A must-read thread from @sbikh on corporate governance👇
Since @Sequoia_India blogged about governance issues, I thought I would add some random thoughts of my own on corporate governance. (1/12)
As someone who has worked with the public education system and now backs traditional edtechs, this makes me think deeply about the inequity in India https://t.co/TIVsBshHFI
