@jamonholmgren Reading the replies is painful lol
Are you using a grid system or something like that? Something I was always curious about with origin shifting is doing updates for far away entities. Does their origin shift, too?
@oopsallsolace@VaikNay New ones are definitely better but I think you always had a nice style nailed down! Something is charming about your models here
@masadfrost You were not “offended by what I said”. You are just making use of a platform that handles emotions, wrapped by a Zig implementation of human consciousness. People are saying that we (consci) actually have emotions and can be offended. We’re just using an overhyped API.
@masadfrost “You” didn’t go to sleep. The nervous system actually does sleep. You’re just _triggering_ sleeping. I feel very strongly about this. You aren’t doing anything when you “decide to go to sleep because it’s past your bedtime”.
@ScpLore@XavierLamarWar2 @TheKerfont @lucks_eterna Wouldn’t you consider a “lore mistake” to be an actual, blatant, contradiction of established fact? Like, saying they did House dirty doesn’t mean they contradicted anything, that is just where they went with it.
@dummdidumm_ A lot of TS is "huh?? this is a bug." and then you start reading GitHub issues, pull requests... and once you leave that rabbit hole, you understand why it's this way, but not feeling much better about it.
That, or totally flabbergasted by JavaScript's Lovecraftian nature.
@lordvictor Games were also much, much cheaper to make, less complex, and took less time to make.
Actually making a AAA game now is so expensive that one of the strategies done to make it even remotely viable is to release them earlier and patch as you go. It’s just the reality of things.
@RetroSpaceGame Interesting thing I believe hl2 does is check what animation to play based on if you were going to hit something when you clicked, so you can play whiff vs hit animations. Much better though!
@morew4rd@SebAaltonen imo, even if you go for the full AI approach it’s simply inefficient - you don’t actually need a 4090 for a good game. it would be better for an AI to actually write the game code and create assets, and then you play that.
@Tyler_McV Everything _should_ work. Until it doesn’t. Linux is always a battle with typically small problems - often things you can’t google, either.
However, my thing here is that Source tooling was built for windows and so a lot of fun mod stuff might be kind of hard to use.
