How it started vs How it's going.

@opengotchi started as a weekend project where we thought it'd be soo cool to build an AI tamagotchi using an ESP32 we had lying around. We created an ugly POC with some jumper cables, a breadboard, a display and five buttons we labeled with sticky notes. We posted a video of it online thinking a few friends might find it interesting.

It went viral.

So we did the only reasonable thing and decided to actually build it, even though honestly none of us really knew what scaling something like this was supposed to look like.

Two months later, we're in Kuala Lumpur, flown out and hosted for a full month by @virtuals_io, and we've spent the last few days pitching the thing we hacked together in our rooms to people we used to read about on Twitter!!

We pitched to @balajis, to @ethermage , co-founder @virtuals_io . To Hassan Ahmed, @coinbase Country Director. To @theshikhai , co-founder of @LongHashVC . And to investors from @base, from @NetworkSchool_, and honestly, in rooms we never thought of being in.

None of this happens without @DonJohnsonSays, @IntoPurpleMoon, @virtuals_io, @base & the @baseapac team, who somehow looked at four guys with a tamagotchi made of cables and decided to bet on us anyway. Thank you, sincerely. We don't take this for granted, and we never will.

And to my team @virgin_hunter69 , @CaptainCodeOnX , @Sarv_shaktiman , I just don't have enough words to describe this group. I feel lucky I get be be a part of this team, from college hostel bakchodi to winning 45+ hackathons, nothing seems impossible with this bunch.

If you'd shown us picture 2,3 & 4 the day we took picture 1, we wouldn't have believed you. Honestly, some days we still don't.

That ugly POC is still with us. It always will be...
