अणुभ्यश्च महद्भ्यश्च शास्त्रेभ्यः कुशलो नरः।
सर्वतः सारमादद्यात्पुष्पेभ्य इव षट्पदः।।
A wise person gathers only the important parts of knowledge from all ���shaastras’ (because they are too many to learn) – just as a bee gathers only the honey from all types of flowers.

आदौ चित्ते ततः काये सतां सम्पद्य��े जरा ।
असतां तु पुनः काये नैव चित्ते कदाचन ॥
Old age gets first into the mind and then into the body of virtuous people. Their thinking ripens and matures earlier. Old age arises in body, but never in mind of the wicked.
अपमानितोऽपि कुलजो न वदति परुषं स्वभावदाक्षिण्यात्।
न हि मलयचन्दनतरुः परशुप्रहतः स्रवेत् पूयम्॥
Even when insulted, the noble born does not respond with hurtful words. This is just like how the Sandalwood tree does not release a foul smell even when cut with an axe.
लोकैकचक्षुषि गते परलोकमर्के
लोकः स्वपित्यखिल एव सुखं गृहेषु ।
कोऽन्यो विचिन्तयितुमर्हति विश्वमेतत्
तिष्ठेन्मया विरहमेत्य कथं किलेति ॥ कल्हणराजतरङ्गिणी
Due to darkness, everyone goes to sleep when the source of brightness, the Sun, moves to the other side of the earth. Other than Sun itself, who can understand the world's condition in its absence? Similar to the sun's absence, the absence of learned people's knowledge results in the hibernation of knowledge in the awareness of the public. Therefore, it is the duty of learned people to spread knowledge and educate others.
आयुर्वित्तं गृहच्छिद्रं मन्त्रमौषधसङ्गमौ ।
दानमान���वमानाश्च नव गोप्या मनीषिभिः ॥
A wise person keeps these nine things to one's self as secrets, including one's age, how much money one has, house matters, sacred sayings, making of medicinal drugs, one's private life, how much money one gave to charity, their personal honors, and their humiliation.
य उपेक्षेत शत्रुं स्वं प्रसरन्तं यदृच्छया।
रोगं चालस्यसंयुक्तः स शनैस्तेन हन्यते॥

A person who ignores the enemy steadily growing his strength and an ailment spreading in his body, due to lethargy, is destroyed due to his own negligence.
