😳🤨Biologists are now saying that trees are social beings, they are sentient and they can count (!), learn and hold memory.
They help and nurse other sick trees and plants, sending electric signals across fungal networks, and keep long failed companions alive for centuries by feeding them w sugary solutions thru vast root systems.
Trees are much more than what we think they are, in many cultures forest bathing is a thing and it has healing properties.
Moving close to nature is the way to go to heal inside and out. FOREST = FOR REST🍄
Maturing is realizing they never burned witches. They burned midwives, healers, herbalists, and knowledgeable women.
Women who understood medicine, nature, and their own autonomy. Women whose knowledge threatened patriarchal control. The "witch hunts" were never about magic, they were about silencing women who couldn't be controlled.
so planting trees does more than just provide shade it actively lowers temperatures and they act as carbon sinks. we need to plant trees AND lower fossil fuel emissions.
btw in your 20's and 30’s you’ll start rediscovering the niche interests and hobbies you had as a kid. it’s very important you revisit them. your younger self was actually on to something.
i have to treat my body better, not to attract a lover or an audience, but because my body is a conduit for the entire life experience. this body is a container for all possible consciousness. it is my job to live a life that this enhanced vessel can sustain with ease and joy .
Queer History Fact: during the AIDS crisis, many lesbians became frontline caregivers and activists for gay and bi men when society and institutions abandoned them. Their leadership and solidarity are part of why the ‘L’ now comes first in LGBTQIA+.

As a queer Mexican man, I grew up being told that loving other men was wrong, that the images of romance I saw, serenatas, kisses, scenes from cinema, were not meant for me.
In my paintings, I return to those images and place queer love within them, so that we can all feel seen, understood, loved
