Mid January
Installers come and from January- March get frame up and start to lay down planks. It’s going very slow, but at this point any progress seems like a miracle.
What do you do when a big box retailer rips you off? @Lowes@bbb_us ? Almost a year since we paid up-front to have a rotting deck replaced. No shows and endless excuses. Absolute nightmare.
Contact signed and paid in full June 2022. There’s material delays until September, inconvenient but understandable. Materials arrive incomplete, wait again….placed on curved surface with concrete bags on top. They sit unopened by contractors for 5 months.
Month 5
December.
Installer calls, apologizes profusely and promises new deck before Xmas. Nobody shows till second week in January. Materials still under load on hill in winter. @lowes rep assured me they will be fine and the installation will start soon.
@lowes rep blames county inspector for delays, holes are hard… I was the only one that knew nobody came for a month. What was the point of using @lowes ? Zero oversight. Campbell Home Improvement sent an email to let me know installer would be replaced… @BBBCentralVA
Month 3
4 weeks, no workers
Contact “lead” 1 of 2 people who ever came.
Says he’s been sick, and has been in a car accident possibly, and that he won’t be coming back soon. Has no idea if “Campbell Home Improvement” knows or will send someone else.@Lowes@BBBCentralVA
@lowes quote was 2, maybe 3 weeks tops once the contractors start.
Month 2 -
October - 2 young workers remove most of rotten deck, house trim gets pretty beat up, big foundation holes are dug. It remains like this for 4 month.@bbb_us
@radtomdotcom @j_ssuarez@MEGAprivacy Been wondering the same. Looked into it last year around the same time. Didn’t ever pull the trigger and got busy. Just Had to many active projects to juggle the transfer. Things are slow now and looking again.
@guidorosso Couldn’t agree more! Really love what I’m seeing with @rive_app and also @splinetool - first tools I’ve seen that might actually disrupt the Adobe stranglehold.
@FullHarbor Intrigued by this and would love to understand better. I think I get the spirit of it, but assuming career experience is the same in each case(none/ just finished degree..) would your advice still be drastically different?
@SamWelkerTV You should do an intro tutorial to this, you’d kill it! ( Maybe you already have?). Definitely niche within niche but I love leaning the technical tool making.
