@scottgeirman Dodgers were never lower than 12th in payroll from 04-12, made the playoffs four times, and had a losing record just twice. The Padres fanbase has gone through much worse from pure on-field standpoint. The Dodgers made the NLCS twice in McCourt era. Padres have been 3 times total

The data backs up that the odds are in Top 10 US media markets favor. They represent 13 teams and have won 76.7% of titles in Wild Card era. It's higher if Angels included

@jonschaeffer @JimRussellSD To get to 87 wins, the Padres have to finish 50-31 (61.7%). Only TB and ATL (TEX close) have played at or above that win % so far.
87 wins since 2016 will put a team in mix for 6th best record in NL (varies each year of course).
