There is an invisible layer that affects many friendships in Bengaluru.
That layer is called urban and civic exhaustion.
Friendships don’t fade because people don’t care. They fade because the city quietly drains the energy required to sustain them.
The traffic takes an hour out of your evening. Work spills into what used to be personal time. Weekends become recovery periods rather than social ones.
You start saying things like:
“Let’s meet soon.”
“Next week for sure.”
“Once things settle down.”
Things rarely settle down.
What earlier required a 10 minute auto ride now requires planning, coordination, and stamina. You have to build stamina to be rejected by drivers on apps, to cross under constructed sites, to take long jumps over open drainages and collect dust on your face.
Friendships slowly move from physical spaces to WhatsApp reactions and Instagram replies.
The affection is still there. The intent is still there.
But the civic friction of the city sits between people.
In cities like Bengaluru, maintaining friendships has quietly become an act of effort. And sometimes, effort is the first casualty of urban and civic exhaustion.
Corporate Rules for Happy Life In 2026
1. Trust nobody.
2. What happens in office, remain in office. Never take office gossips to home and vice versa.
3. Enter office on time, leave on time. Your desktop is not helping improvement in your health.
4. Never make GF/BF and/or brother/sister in office. It will always backfire.
5. Expect nothing. If somebody helps, feel thankful. If not, you will learn to know things on your own.
6. Never rush for position. If you get promoted, congrats. If not, it doesn't matter. You will always be remembered for your knowledge and politeness, not for your designation.
7. Never run behind office stuff. You have better things to do in life.
8. Avoid taking everything on your ego. Your salary matters. You are being paid. Use your assets to get happiness.
9. It doesn't matter how people treat you. Be humble. You are not everyone's cup of tea.
10. In the end nothing matters except family, friends, home, and Inner peace
You visited a country as a tourist long ago. Visit it again, coz now it will be a different country. Not coz it has developed, but your new income strata will unlock a different experience in the same country.
Imagine surviving on Supermarket Panini sandwiches & cup noodles, and running around looking for free Wi-Fi.
That’s a great experience in itself. But you have graduated from that level. A Paris will look and feel much different, when you don’t faint if you have to buy bottled water. That’s the beauty of travel.
This is the Ejipura flyover in Bengaluru, under construction since 2017, still incomplete after 8 years.
For perspective, the UAE built the Burj Khalifa in 5 years. The US reconstructed the World Trade Center in 7 years. China turned Shenzhen from a fishing village into an industrial city in 7 years.
And here we are, unable to finish even a flyover in nearly a decade. The irony is that after all that delay, whatever finally gets built barely lasts a few years.
#BREAKING#Karnataka education minister Madhu Bangarappa breaks silence on NEP class 1 age row.. Big relief incoming!
Karnataka government has finally acknowledged the plight of over 5 lakh aggrieved families battling the rigid #NEP age limit for Class 1
Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa has assured a favourable solution will be announced soon, bringing much needed relief to parents whose children were unfairly forced to repeat a year.. The full story 👇
🚸 Over 6 Lakh Children in Karnataka at Risk of Losing a Year! 🚸
❌ Kids who started pre-primary education in 2022 are now being forced to repeat a year due to a new age rule (NEP) introduced in Nov 2022—AFTER they had already begun school!
🤔 Is it fair to change rules retrospectively and disrupt a child’s education?
📢 These children met the age criteria when admitted—why penalize them now?
⏳ With no new learning opportunities, forcing them to repeat a year is unfair and unnecessary!
Requesting for relaxing the rule for 2 more years so that kids who had already enrolled before the NEP rule came into light are not getting affected.

As a child, I always wondered why Indian words like राम always got written as "Rama" in English. To me "Ram" seemed like a much better fit for the pronunciation. I thought it was because of British arbitrariness.
Only recently I learnt the real reason for this. /1
Just now my mother received a call saying
Modiji will deposit Rs 15000 to people's A/C due to lockdown
For this he asked her the OTP
