This morning, the Combat Antisemitism Movement sent words of condolence and our unwavering support to New Orleans Mayor Cantrell in the wake of the tragic terrorist attack that unfolded on Bourbon Street today.
This deliberate attack, fueled by radical Islamist ideology, underscores the urgent need to eradicate such dangerous beliefs that breed hatred and violence. Just a few weeks ago, the Mayor stood with unwavering courage at the Mayors Summit Against Antisemitism, declaring that hatred and extremism must be confronted with the strongest resolve.
Today, as she leads her city through this dark moment, she embodies true leadership. The entire nation should rally behind her and stand in solidarity with New Orleans. Together, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to combatting and eradicating the ideologies that fuel such atrocities.
This year, Hanukkah and Christmas share the same day—a beautiful convergence that reminds us of the power of unity, hope, and light in our lives. In a world often divided by differences, this moment offers us a chance to reflect on the values we hold dear: the miracles that inspire us, the joy that uplifts us, and the love that binds us together across communities and traditions.
As we gather with loved ones, light the menorah, and decorate our trees, let’s remember that the essence of these celebrations is shared—a commitment to bringing light into the darkness and spreading kindness wherever we can. May this special season inspire us to build bridges of understanding, foster deeper connections, and continue the vital work of standing against hate in all its forms.
Let’s celebrate the miracles, joy, and love that connect us all and carry these blessings forward into 2025!
